Festive Christmas Chipboard Ornaments
Hello Craft Friends! Happy December! The Christmas season is upon us! Do you have your Christmas tree up? I like to put my tree up early and enjoy it all season long. How about you?
I thought it would be fun to create some handmade ornaments to hang on your tree or give as a extra gift surprise. I'm using Tres Jolie Chipboard Ornaments (6 total) exclusive to this kit, and the December Scrapbook kit! This kit has gorgeous festive papers from 3 Quarter Designs " December Wishes" collection. You get 8 12x12 design papers plus some extra Bonus papers, 6 cutoff strips, photo mats, element words and 2 A-4 Diecut sheets! But there's more, Christmas Poinsetta Flowers from Little Birdie, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pine Needles.
This kit would be a great gift idea for any scrapbooker or yourself.
From my stash, I'm using Recollections Paper Mache Ornament circle shapes, circle dies, some Christmas sprigs, bells, embossing powders, tinsel and assortment of glitter and acrylic paints Stickles Candy Cane, Golden Rod glitter, assortment of washi tapes from a previous Tres Jolie Christmas scrapbook kit from last year, light blue paint, fake snow, diecut bow shape, gems.
First off, I chose several designed patterned papers from the kit. Using a Circle die from my stash, I diecut 6 Circle shapes. I glued onto one of the paper mache circle shape. Repeat this with all the remaining 5 circle papers. Set aside for now.
Merry Christmas Ornament: take your Merry Christmas Tres Jolie chipboard and some gold Metallic paint, and apply your paint around the circle edge including the swirls. Let dry. Now take Stickles Candy Cane glitter and apply over your Merry Christmas letters. For the star I applied some Stickles Golden Rod glitter. On the tips of my swirls, I added a Liquid pearls Rouge dot. Let dry. Taking some striped washi tape I applied along the outside edge.
Now glue your chipboard shape onto your paper mache circle, making sure to thread your gold string through the hole at the top of your ornament. To finish I glued acouple pine tree stems, berries and pinecone at the top. Here's a photo!
Snowflake Chipboard Ornament: I diecut and glued one of the music papers onto my paper mache shape.
I painted the outside edge on my chipboard piece using light blue acrylic paint as well as the outside edge of my ornament and the hanger. Let dry. Then taking some Luna paste Moonlight Sea I applied some over my blue acrylic paint on the front. Let dry.
On the snowflakes I covered with white confetti. Then after it's dry, I glued a few gems on scattered areas on my Snowflake. The tiny bow I diecut from some light blue glitter cardstock in my stash. Then glue your chipboard shape in place onto your paper mache circle shape. Glue your tiny bow at the top! I applied some Tim Holtz texture paste snowfall (my stash) on the outside edge. Here's some photos!
Candy Cane Ornament: glue your paper in place onto your paper mache circle shape as we did previously. Take your Candy Cane chipboard and some white acrylic paint (my stash) and apply to every other stripe on your Candy Cane. The other striped areas. I applied some chunky red glitter. Taking your Tim holtz Distress Ink Pine Needles in your kit, I applied along the front of my circle shape and on the hanger. Let dry. Here's how it looks so far:

Shake off any excess embossing powder and heat with your heat tool. Then glue in place. I adhered a few silver gems in the center of my Snowflakes. Glued a Little Birdie Red Poinsetta flower from this kit, at the top of my chipboard ornament. Twisting some red/green tinsel stems
