Festive Christmas Cards & Gift Card Holders
Hello Craft Friends!
My name is Dana one of the designers for Tres Jolie Kit club. Today I'm here to share some easy Christmas cards and Gift Card Holders. It's never to early to start making those Christmas cards. And our November Cards Tags and More kit is just the kit you need! So hope you grab a kit today before they sell out!
Our Card kit includes a new paper collection from Simple Stories. It's called " All Wrapped Up" you get a full 6x8 papers pad with 24 papers (2 of each design) the paper pad includes some Journaling.i cards and a small tags. Also included this kit are matching Sentiment Bits pack, Buttons Galore Sparkle Buttons, Little Birdie flowers, Handmade Embellishment packs with Christmas bells and wreaths. Here's a photo of the Cards kit:

From my stash I am using Red and Green Card bases measuring 4 & 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches, foam tape and dots, WeR memory keepers Envelope Punch Board, score board, jute cord, small Christmas bells.
We will be making a total of 5 Christmas cards. But you will have enough leftover papers to create more plus multiple gift card boxes.
Card #1 I took a dark green card base and cut the gold/white polka dots paper to 4 x 5 & 1/4 inches, this leaves about 1/8inch green border all around. Adhere your paper in place. See photo:

For the next layer, I cut a piece of the Christmas tree paper to 3 & 5/8 x 5 inches and adhered over the top of your previous paper, using foam tape. This adds dimension. See photo:

Next I chose 3 Buttons and acouple sentiments from the Sentiment Bits package and cut out this red tab from another paper from the paper pad. See photo:

I arranged my embellishments before gluing down. I added foam dots to the back of the "Merry" sentiment, I glued the Christmas words onto the red tab piece and adhered towards the right edge. I glued my 3 buttons along the bottom edge. Then taking a white gel pen and black marker, I added a small line between each button hole. This resembles thread as if you sewed it. See my finished card:

Card #2: I took another patterned paper and cut apart each patterned strips- 5 total. I also cut out the "jingle all the way" journal card. See photos:

Now glue all 5 strips across the front of your Red card base. I adhered the journal card centered using foam dots. See photo:

I took some jute cord and wrapped around the bottom edge, and tied a knot. Then glue a button over top. I added a Christmas Bells sticker at the top! Here's how my card looks:

Card #3: On my light green card base, I added a piece of the Poinsetta paper (cut same size as previously) and adhered using foam dots.

I cut out the journal card with the door/wreath on it, and took out the wreath sticker Embellishment.

I chose a sentiment piece from the Bits and Pieces pack. With foam tape I adhered my journal card centered on the front of my card. Then added one of the wreath stickers over top of the journal card where the wreath is. I glued my sentiment above. Here's a photo:

Card #4: Red card base, I cut a color polka dot paper to measure 4 & 1/4 inches. Glue this on the leftside leaving a slight red border. I fussycut out some presents from one of the journal cards. With foam dots I adhered the presents on the right side. I tied some red/white jute cord into a bow and glued on one of the presents. I added a sentiment with foam dots over the top of my polka dot paper. And glued a pine and berries piece at the top. (Sorry I forgot to take separate photos for this card. But here's a finished photo:

Card #5: I am using a light green card base. I cut the Santa paper same size as before. Then glued onto my card base. From my stash, I added a few pieces of Tim Holtz cello tape over top of several areas on the patterned paper. See photo:

I added a sentiment at the bottom edge and glued some buttons on the card front. Here's a photo:

Now I will show you how to make these gift card/money holders. I'm using the WeR memory keepers Envelope Punch Board to create these.
Taking a 3 & 3/4 x 6 & 3/4 piece of red cardstock from my stash, and score at 1 & 1/4, 2, 4 & 3/8 and 5 & 1/8 inches.

Crease and fold. This creates your top piece. Set it aside.
Taking a sheet of paper from the kit and cut to measure 6x6 inches.

Taking your envelope Punch board, lay your paper on your board with the leftside at 2 inch mark. See photo:

Punch and score. Turn your paper and line up on the 3 inch mark. Punch and score.

Repeat this two more times. See photo:

Round your 2 short tabs. Next take your paper and line up the blue pokey piece on the score line closet to you. Punch and score on all 4 sides.
Fold and crease on all score lines. Take one of the folded short tabs and slip it under at the 1 & 1/8 inch line. And punch. This creates a notch to slide out your box easily. See photos:

Now cut up to the center fold on all 4 side square flaps. Fold and glue together.

Fold and glue your larger flaps on all 4 sides. Your bottom box should look like this:

Take your top piece and wrap it around the bottom of your box. Then secure with glue on the backside. Now your box is done. It will fit a gift card inside. See photo:

On the top of my box, I cut a scrap piece of paper with the trees and glued onto the top. I cut out one of the small tags, matted it onto a gold/white polka dot scrap paper. Glue on top of your box. I added a few Christmas bells at the top. Here's a photo!

I created another gift tag box repeating the steps we did with the first box. Here's a photo:

You can create as many as you like. I hope you'll try making these gift tag boxes and Christmas cards.
Thank you for joining me today. Hope you order a kit and start getting a head start on all your Christmas cards and projects!
I will be back next week to share more craft inspiration with you! Until then Happy Crafting!
