February Planner (Altered Mini Binder)

Happy February Crafty Friends! Jeanne here today to share with you my first project using the amazingly beautiful Scrapbook Kit from Tres Jolie. I absolutely love the collections from 3 Quarter Designs so this time I decided I would alter a Mini Binder from the Dollar Tree that I've been wanting to alter. So this month's kit really got me inspired to it. 

 

This project did not take too much time to create at all! I began by creating the cover first. I originally had chosen a different paper for my cover, I had already adhered it onto the binder cover, but I came to find out real quick to not drink cherry kool-aid while crafting lol . I knocked over my glass and it got on my cover. Anyhow so I chose another paper, adhered it , I then took the resin frame from the kit and went over it with Finnabair Heavy Gesso first, I mixed up some Finnabair Snow White Impasto Paint with Finnabair Color Fluid Medium and used a sponge brush to go over the frame then set aside to dry. 

 

 

While the frame dried I measured and cut the papers for the inside cover pockets. I also cut the papers for the dividers. I do need to add the paper for the pages of my planner but I will do this later because I was out of printer paper which i was going to use on it. I then used a tab thin die for the dividers. I decided to use some pink glitter paper for these. I also cut the piece for the spine. 

 

 

Once the resin frame was dried I adhered it on the cover. Then began adding the beautiful Prima Marketing flowers from the kit  I also took some of the paper flowers from the ephemera sheets from this beautiful paper collection. I used some foam dots to adhere some of those flowers. Also I added the butterfly from one of the flower packs.  I then cut one of the sentiments from the sentiment sheet and adhered it onto the cover.  I then added a piece of lace to the edge of the spine. 

 

Next I finished the inside and added lace on the pockets using double sided tape. On the pages I cut and adhered some of the sentiments onto the dividers. 

I finished this binder buy mixing some of the Finnabair MIca powders with water and using my splatter brush I splattered it onto the cover and some of the inside dividers as well. 

I did not add a paper to the back only because I didn't feel it needed it.
