Family Is Forever
Today, I want to share my first project made with Tres Jolie’s May Scrapbook Kit: a layout featuring a photo of my grandmother and her sister and sisters-in-law, along with some of their children.
And here is the Kit that inspired it.
As you can see, the papers and embellishments are so versatile – perfect for vintage and/or feminine layouts, cards and just about any other project you desire.
I started by cutting up the cover sheet, separating the sample strips on top. I used the reverse side of the paper that was left to matte my photo after inking all the edges. I then selected two of the strips to go on either side of the photo, again inking the edges before adhering them to the paper.
I left the white chipboard pieces “as is”, tucking one of the doilies behind the photo.
I cut one of the lace borders in half and glued them one above the other at the tops. Once that was done, I adhered the photo to the base.
Next came the flowers… I used flowers and leaf branches from two of the packages, placing them here and there until I was satisfied, then gluing them down.
I finished the layout by adding a sentiment sticker from my stash to the side of the photo - I think it captures the image perfectly...
