Elegant Vintage Mini Album, Part 1 - Creating the blank Album
Welcome to today's tutorial!
Today I'm sharing how to construct this gorgeous, vintage-inspired mini album featuring the 2026 September Card, Tag and More Kit from Tres Jolie. I will walk you through how we create the blank mini album, starting with creating the base, hinge and then the pages, I also added page inserts to give you extra areas to add in photos. This will be Part 1 of 2 so you have time to create the blank album.

Once we are done constructing the blank mini album we move on to using 2026 September Card Kit, to give you the finished look of this Elegant Mini Album.

2026 September Card, Tag and More Kit

During this step-step please refer to the Video Tutorial for other details.
Measurements for the mini album
2 cardstock pieces - 8 1 /4 x 12 adhere two ends together to create one uniform piece.
Cut 2 pcs of chipboard 8 1/2 x 6 1/4; Cut 1 pc chipboard 3 x 6 1/4 inches
Next place adhesive on the back of the chipboard pieces and adhere down leaving a 1 1/2 inch on the left and right side of the cardstock and about 1 inch from the top and bottom. Leave a 1/8 inch between each piece of chipboard when laying down on top of the cardstock. ***please watch video***
Next create the Hinge - Cut 1 pc of cardstock at 5 7/8 x 11 inches; Score - 2 5/8, 3 1/8, 3 5/8, 4 1/4, 4 3/4, 5 1/4, 5 7/8, 6 3/5, 6 7/8, 7 1/2, 8, 8 1/2 inches. Then fold back and forth ***please watch video***this creates the hinge and we adhere the valley's of the paper to create the hinge to hold the pages.
Cut two pcs 8 1/4 x 5 7/8 inches to cover the front and back inside of the album.
Pages -
Cut 4 pcs of cardstock - 6 x8 inches
Cut 4 pcs of cardstock - 6 x8 inches
Cut 4 pcs of cardstock - 7 x 8 inches; Score 1/2 inches with the 7 inches laying across the top of the scoreboard.
Fold in the scored flaps and adhere down the 6x8 inch piece to the 1/2 inch flaps. This creates your pages. You will have openings on both ends. One side will attach to the hinge and the other side will hold a photo mat insert. ***please watch video***
Do this for all your pages and your album will be completed and ready for Part 2 - Paper and Decorating.
