Easy Accordion Vintage Tag Book

Hello Craft Friends!

Dana here! I know this time of year can get busy and hectic, that we don't always get enough time to craft. But today I'm sharing a quick and easy Accordion Tag Book project I think would make a great gift idea.

To make this Accordion Tag Book I'm using the December Tres Jolie Scrapbook kit! You're going to love the beautiful Photoplay Beautiful Junque 12x12 paper pack which includes a sheet of 12x12 stickers! But there's more you also receive Tres Jolie Chipboard Butterfly and Ticket borders, 2 large white paper dollies, 2 Book sheets, Prima Marketing Flowers and 2 packs of 49&Market flowers 12 pc Taffy and Rustic Blooms! Here's a look at the Scrapbook kit:

From my stash I'm using Tres Jolie Chipboard Tags https://tresjoliekits.com/collections/chipboard/products/miscellaneous (2 total), Crystal gems, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, Distress tool, xaco knife, Ranger Distress Translucent Crackle Paste, Pink fuzzy ribbon, photos, and foam dots.

To begin creating our Accordion Tag Book, take 2 Tres Jolie Chipboard Tags (3 &1/4 x 6")

Chose one of the 12x12 patterned papers to create your accordian pull out. You'll want to measure and carefully mark where you want to tear your paper into 2 pieces. You want your paper to fit between the height of top right below the hole on each tag to the bottom of your tag. See photo:

Apply Distress Ink along the edges of both papers. Then join and glue your two pieces together about 1/2 inch. Don't worry if one of your torn papers end up upside down, like mine did. Oops. But no worries we'll be covering these panels so no one will even notice! Your torn edge will be on the top! See photo:

Now score 1 & 1/2 inch on each end and fold. Then glue one flap onto each tag. Don't worry we will be covering up these flaps with another patterned paper. See photos:

Start folding your papers accordian style. You'll end up with a total of 6 panels including both tags. See photo:

Next I chose different patterned papers to cover the front side of my 1st tag. Punch a hole at the top, apply ink on your edges and glue in place. I chose the "Letters" paper and I cut to measure 3 & 1/4 x 6 & 1/2 inches. Here's a photo of the front cover:

I covered the backside with "Good Life " paper. See photo:

2nd Tag: I covered the front base with the same pink/floral paper. See photo:

Backside of second tag:

Now we can start decorating the front of our Tag book!

I cut a white Doily into 4 equal pieces. I applied some Tim Holtz Distress Ink Spun Sugar( my stash) lightly around the edges of my doily. I fussycut the small butterfly from one of the journal cards and cut apart one of my Tres Jolie chipboard tickets and covered with a scrap piece of paper.  See photo:

I glued my doily at the top and glued my chipboard ticket piece over top and added a 49 and Market white flowers and small leaf. I arranged and glued several Prima flowers and another small white flower and leaves in place. I bent my butterfly wings upward and glued among the flowers. I added a few crystals and sticker sentiment along the bottom right corner. Here's a photo:

Backside of Tag 1: I cut out a Carte Postal envelope from "To Do List" paper see photo:

and adhered as a pocket. I cut out a small tag, above and added a gem over the hole on my tag and tucked inside my pocket! At the top, I cut out a sentiment from "My Story " paper and adhered with foam dots.

Page 2: I took a small photo, and with my Distress tool, I roughed around all the outside edges on my photo. Then I  applied some Ranger Distress Translucent Crackle Paste over the top. This will make my photo look old and aged. Let dry overnight. See photo:

I randomly tore a piece from one of the book sheets, inked along the edge, and tore one of the letters from "To Do List" paper then glued them overlapping each other onto my page at an angle. See photo:

I glued my photo in place and here's how my first 2 pages turned out:

Page 3: I cut out a Rose journal card and scored 1/2 inch on the leftside.

Then adhered on the left edge as a flip page. Underneath my flip page, I cut out a tiny envelope and glued on the inside flap. On the opposite side, I added a small photo, glued a small pink rose from the kit, at the bottom edge of my photo. I cut apart the "Everyday Moments " sentiment and glued one above and below my photo. Here's a photo of what I cut out: Note: i took apart the small tiny rose center, from my flower (save the tiny rose we will be using it on another page) I didn't want my flower to be too bulky. Then I glued one of the small punk flowers from the kit in the center of my remaining Rose.

Page 4: I tore another scrap piece from "To Do List " paper, inked along the edges. I also tore a small leftover scrap, see photo:

I tucked the small piece under the note paper and glued onto my page. I added a small rose sticker at the top.

Here's acouple photos:

Page 5: I tore a small piece from another book sheet, inked and glued onto my page. I cut out the Fredericks ephemera piece and glued along the bottom over top of my book sheet. I added a heart sticker on the right side.

Page 6: I cut out another journal card, took another small photo and applied of the Ranger Distress Translucent Crackle and let dry. Cut apart another Tres Jolie chipboard ticket, cover with a scrap piece of Rose paper. I glued the tiny rose we saved from earlier, and glued on top of my chipboard ticket with a small leaf. I added a Smile sticker and #77 sticker. Here's a photo:

Flip your Tag Book over. I decorated the backside of my 2nd tag with a fussycut journcapiece from the "Good Life " paper and glued in the center of my tag. I added a Floral sticker along the bottom. And with foam dots, adhered a butterfly fussycut circle at the top. Here's a photo:

Page 7: I cut out a journal card and scored 1/2 inch at the top and adhered as a flip page. I added a photo underneath.

Page 8: I made another pocket using another scrap paper from "Letters". I glued a small stamp sticker, tiny pink flowers and leaf on the front of my pocket. Inside my pocket, i cut out acouple sentiment cards and a small tag. On my tag, I added a Prima flower at the top and applied a good friends sticker! On the backside i added a small photo. Here's some photos:

Page 9: I cut another scrap piece and adhered as a side pocket. I tucked a journal card inside and added a sticker sentiment on the front of my side pocket!

Page 10: I tore another note cards and inked along the edges, then glued onto my page. I applied acouple stickers. Heres acouple photos!

To finish my Tag Accordion Book, I tied some Pink fuzzy ribbon through the holes on both tags and tied into a bow! Here's another closeup photo:

Now we are all finished with our Accordion Tag Book! I hope I've inspired you and you'll order your kit and start creating these fun and easy Accordion Tag Books!
