Countdown to Christmas Advent Calendar

Hello Crafty Peeps!

Dana here! I have a fun project you can create to countdown the days till Christmas. It features Tres Jolie Special Limited Advent Calendar kit. You can order yours below. Just click the link. https://tresjoliekits.com/collections/kits-on-sale/products/holiday-kits

This Limited Kit includes Graphic45 Chipboard Calendar box, "Merry & Bright" 12x12 papers, matching diecuts, Tres Jolie Chipboard Numberals, 2 deer and Tree shapes. You also get a set of tiny lights,  Sparklely fine glitter pack and Little Birdie flowers! Order your kit today because they are sure to sell out quickly!

From my stash I'm using Folkart Vintage White acrylic paint, Dazzle stickers, Paint Couture Lux Metallics-Amazon (from a previous Tres Jolie Kit) Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, piece of fluffy snow cloth.

To begin our project, I applied Folkart Vintage White acrylic paint to the sides and back of each Calendar box drawer. After your paint has dried, I applied Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs along the edges. This gives a nice Vintage distressed look. See photo:

Repeat this step for all your boxes. While your tiny boxes are drying, chose several of the patterned Graphic45 12x12 papers from the kit. I cut the backside paper to measure 10 & 3/4 x 12 inches and glued in place, lining up your paper at the bottom edge. Along  the top edge, I cut a sentiment border strip from "Celebrate Peace" to 12 x 2 1/8 inches and glue in place. See photo:

Cut 2 papers to measure 12 x 2 & 1/8 inches and glue on both sides. I cut a scrap border piece and glued along the top on both sides of my box.

From the same paper, I cut 1 piece to measure 10 & 3/4 x 2 & 1/8 inches. Adhere on the bottom of your box.

Next we can start covering the front of each of our tiny calendar boxes with a variety of patterned papers. I cut each paper to measure 2x2 inches, inked the edges and glued in place. Using an xaco knife from my stash, I cut away the notch at the top on each box. See photo:

Continue this step until all your boxes are covered with patterned papers. See photo:

After you finish covering all your boxes with paper, you can add your embellishments. I used a variety of diecuts from this kit, and I did add a few sequins, and stickers(from my stash) some boxes I added some glue and sprinkled some of the fine glitter from the kit over top of the designs. I added some Liquid pearls-Rouge over top of the berries on some of my boxes.  I also adhered some diecut pieces using foam dots from my stash, to add some dimension. Take your Tres Jolie Chipboard Numberals and glue on the front of each Calendar box. Just have fun! Here's some closeup photos!

You can fill your tiny boxes with candies, chocolate, small Trinkets and babbles. The possibilities are endless!

Gather your string of tiny lights and some of the Diecut pieces to decorate the side panels.

Now take your tiny lights and adhere using hot glue, being careful not to get any glue on your tiny lights. I started adding my tiny lights to one side and along the top, and finished ending at the bottom left edge. I adhered my tiny lights battery compartment at the bottom edge on the left side. You can easily turn the lights on and off. On both sides I glued some extra diecut stamps, Christmas tree and ornaments/star pieces. Here's some photos:

Now we can decorate the top of our box! I took a piece of fluffy snow cloth and glued onto the top edge, making sure to cover my string of tiny lights on both sides.

Take out your Tres Jolie Chipboard deer and tree pieces. On the Tree chipboard i applied some Paint Couture Lux Metallics -Amazon to both sides of my chipboard tree. This paint adds a nice shimmer!  See photo:

Let dry. Then taking some Dazzle sticker circles, I applied to both sides of my tree, to resemble ornament balls. Then I glued both deer and the Chipboard tree in place. Here's some photos!

Here's some more photos with my tiny lights turned on:

Now we are finished with our project! This is the perfect Christmas Home Decor piece you can enjoy year after year. I think this would make a great gift idea too! I'm going to surprise my daughter and send this to her to use all season long.
