Cottage Life tags

Hello Craft Friends!

My name is Dana and I'm so happy to be here as a guest designer for Tres Jolie! Today we will be creating some tags using the July Cards, Tags and More kit. This kit features Graphic 45 Cottage Life collection.

To begin our project today, I cut out 3 chipboard tags measuring 3 3/4 x 7 inches,  from leftover cardboard box. I rounded my edges at the bottom  and punched a hole at the top. Then covered front and back of my tags with 3 coordinating base papers

Tag #1: I cut out a Journaling card and matted it on some cream card stock I had in my stash. Then adding some foam dots to the back, I adhered it in the center of my tag. I adhered a sentiment border along the top of my tag. On the bottom of my tag I added a pretty chipboard piece from Tres Jolie shop and adhered a butterfly chipboard in the center and a silver crystal from my stash. I fussy cut a bow from my Scrap paper and adhered a pretty Prima flower,, included in this kit, in the upper right corner. To finish our tag I tied some pink tulle into a bow and using hot glue I adhered at the top of my tag along with a crystal gem from my stash.

Tag #2: Cover your tag base with another coordinating paper measuring 3 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches. Cut out another Journaling card and adhere in the center of your tag using foam dots. I added a "Dwell in Possibility " sentiment at the bottom. A chipboard sentiment at the top and acouple pearl gems on each side over the holes in the chipboard piece. Then to finish I tied some blue tulle into bow, glued it over the hole at the top and added a crystal gem from my stash!

Tag #3 using a Sizzix die frame set from my stash, and using 3 different coordinating papers I diecut, inked along the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs and adhered each layer on top of one another using foam dots.  I adhered a Cottage Life border sentiment along the bottom of my tag. I cut out the words "Keep Life Simple " and adhered at the top of my tag using foam dots. I painted this lovely chipboard butterfly piece you can find in the Tres Jolie shop, with Finnibair Sparks paint in Mermaid Pond. I painted the body of my butterfly with some creme acrylic paint from my stash. Let dry. I carefully bent the butterfly wings upward to create some dimension. Then glued this in the middle of my tag. Added a pink crystal on my butterfly. The I tied some white tulle into a bow and glued it at the top, and finished off with a rose gem.

I hope I have inspired you to create some tags of your own. I think these would be a nice surprise to add inside a card or use as a gift tag! Don't forget to share all your pretty crafty makes on our Facebook page.

Thanks for visiting the Tres Jolie blog! Until we meet again, Have a crafty day!
