Gingerbread Kisses Recipe Album
Hello Crafty Friends! Jeanne here sharing this weeks project for Tres Jolie using this month's Cards, Tags, & More Kit!
The Simple Stories paper pad is super cute!
As you might have noticed that I have used other papers combined with the beautiful Simple Stories paper pad from the kit. I really wanted to create layers on my pages so I decided I would use an old paper pad I had in my stash, "Cozy and Bright" by Pebbles. This matched perfectly with the one from the kit.
I began by painting the chipboard pages about 1 inch around the edges with white acrylic paint. I then began cutting and adhering the paper that would go on the base of the pages from the Pebbles paper pad. I also changed it from a 3 hole album to 2 because I wanted it to match the dividers. So using my We r Memory hole punch I made holes into the pages once they all had been papered. I also made some page reinforcement rings, I actually made them using glitter paper, later realizing that might have not been the brightest of ideas since this is a recipe album and would probably be in the kitchen during the holidays!!! Oh well..... a little glitter never hurt anyone!!
I then took paper from the Simple Stories Baking Spirits Bright paper pad and adhered it , layering it to the base pages. I then used some of the Pebbles paper to create some corner pockets to insert the recipe cards. I also created a couple of pages with photo mats for a couple photos.
I did use some of the journal bits and other cut outs from the Simple Stories paper pad to decorate the pockets.
As for the dividers, all I had to do was laminate them and add the page reinforcement holes. I then moved on to the front and back covers, on the back cover I cut the paper I selected and I then I covered it using some Tim Holtz Frosted paper.
I then began on the cover page, I layered a paper using some foam tape, I had previously fussy cut some gingerbread from one of the Simple Stories pages, I added them to the center along with a variety of seed beads and other confetti and I then adhered one of the Frank Garcia snow globes. I covered the edges of that using some super cute trim from my stash. I then added a variety of flowers and sprays, some from this month's Scrapbook Kit and others from my stash.
I also cut some more gingerbread characters , these are a little larger. I added some cute snowflakes, "string of lights" and a candy cane to them. I finished it off by added a bow from a pale pink fabric .
This recipe album was created with lots of love and Christmas cheer!! I'm definitely ready for Christmas!
I created a short video that shows every page of this album. I hope you enjoy what I've created this week!!
I'll be back next week with a fun tutorial!! I'll be back!!
