I hope you are having a great morning. With the holidays on the way I wanted to share some fun cards that you can gift someone with a little treat inside. The tealight candle card has been around for years but the candy card I created I measured out for Lindt Lindor Chocolates. These are one of my favorite chocolates. For this project I used the Sept. Scrapbook Kit from Tres Jolie along with some of Lindsey Gang Flat Magicals from the Sept. Mixed Media Kit. Below I have the step by step and I also have a video for your convenience.
Cut a piece of pattern paper at 8 1/2 x 11 inches. Score with the 11 inches across the top of the scoreboard 3/8, 1 3/8, 2 7/8, 3 7/8 turn with the 8 1/2 inches across the top of the scoreboard score at 5/8 and 1/12 on the left and right sides.
Next cut out the long ends to the first score line then cut off the top square and skit the midsection cut off the square on the other side. Next cut off the smaller end pieces beside on the 3/8 inch scored flap. Please refer to video tutorial for more details. This part is almost the same as the candle box you will create but it has different measurements.
Next cut a strip of that is 3/4 x 4 1/2 and place in center of the box area and trace. This will be the window to show your goodies inside.
Also cut in between the small flaps on the left and right side of the middle section these are the closures to the box.
Next cut a piece of acetate to size of the inside width of the box and adhere down.
Next at the top of the long part, measure 1 1/2 inches out from the inside score line and make a tick mark on the top and bottom then draw a light line.
Add glue to the small flap on the right side
Adhere down the flap to the line you just drew and burnish down
Now you can decorate and add your Lindor Chocolates.
For the chipboard flower I used the lindsey gang flat magicals. The flowers are painted wild rose rouge and the leaves are painted with the evergreen. These paints really coordinate well with the paper collection. I adhered small white flowers in the center and adhered a Happy Birthday sentiment from the paper collection on top.
Box Card Tealight Candles
Cut a piece of pattern paper or card stock at 8 1/2 x 11 inches.
Score with the 11 inches at the top of the scoreboard at 1/2, 1/14, 3, 3 3/4 inches.
Turn with the 8 1/2 inches at the top of the scoreboard and score at 3/4, and 1 1/2 inches on the left and right sides.
After you score cut off the long pieces to the first score line and then cut where the "X" are shown on the photo below. This is basically the same thing you did with the candy box above but this one has different measurements.
Next take a strip, place in the center of the middle area and trace and cut out. (as shown below)
Next measure out for the acetate and adhere the acetate inside.
Add your glue or tape to the small side flap
Fold your card side in this will help you know where to place down your flap. Burnish down. You can also use the measurement method above. measure 1/12 inches from the score line and draw a line down and place the flap on the line.
After adhere the box down you can decorate your card and place your tealight candles inside.
