Handmade Birdhouse Card

Hi Crafty Friends! Jeanne here to share with you this handmade card I created using this month's Cards, Tags & More Kit from Tres Jolie and a Wooden Birdhouse from Clear Scraps.
I got the idea from a card that I had received some years back from my husband. It had an engraved wooden cover with the back papered in design paper. So I figured I would create something similar. I'm sharing a few pics on how I created it.

I began by taking the wooden birdhouse from Clear Scraps and tracing it onto 150lb white card stock. I also traced it on a piece of paper from Lemoncraft Yesterday collection from a previous Tres Jolie Kit. Next I measured the bottom width of the birdhouse and cut a piece of card stock 3 3/4 by 2 and then I scored it in half @ 1 inch. I'll be using this as the hinge.
Next I traced the birdhouse onto some chipboard, this serves as the back cover. I wanted it to be a little sturdier than just the cardstock.

I then painted the the birdhouse and the chipboard piece with my favorite paint, Folk Art Vintage White Acrylic Paint. Once I painted it I I took one of of the images from the Elements booklet from the Lemoncraft "Happiness" collection that is included in the card kit also. I took that image and adhered it onto the wooden back piece so that the image is peeking from the bird hole.

I then adhered the previous paper I had traced and cut, both card stock and pattern paper, before adhering it down at the bottom, I adhered the paper I had cut for the hinge. On the last photo above I had forgot to trace and cut out a paper for the back part of the bird house.
On the inside I did add a pocket and some tags from the Elements booklet.
I fussy cut some other images for the front part of my card, I added one of the Little Birdie Flowers left from the Scrapbook kit from this month. I added other small flowers from my stash. I added a piece of lace from my stash on the front then adhered the grooms suit then took the wedding dress and adhered some foam tape on it. I also added a Crystal from Prima Marketing Say It In Crystals.
Lastly I added some pearls on the flowers and my sentiment adhered with foam dots.
I hope this was something that you might inspire you to try. Just use your imagination and create anything you want.
I also want to let you know that there is still time to enter the mood board challenge.
