"Beautiful Moments " Stationary Box w/Photo Frame

Hi Crafty Friends! Jeanne here today to share with you my first project of April using the beautiful Scrapbook Kit from Tres Jolie, as well as this month's Cards, Tags & More Kit.
I wanted to create something this month for my daughter Destinee, her birthday is this month. My original idea was to make a box from chipboard, but then it came to my mind this photo box I had in my stash just waiting to be altered. I checked the sizes of the envelopes from the card kit to make sure they would fit before I began altering it.
(BEFORE)

I began by taking off the hardware and setting it aside. I then took some Finnabair Heavy White Gesso and a sponge dauber and added it onto the edges of the box. I left the inside of the drawer in its originally state. I took off the photo sleeves that it came with.

I then painted the edges after the white gesso dried with Finnabair Impasto Paint (Snow White) mixed with the Finnabair Liquid Color Fluid. When that was dry I began by measuring the papers I would be using for the box and cutting them. Once I had them all cut, I added the Dried Marigold Distress Ink that was included in the Scrapbook Kit for this month, all along the edges of the papers then I adhered them using Beacon Fabri-Tac glue.

Once I was done adhering the paper I added the hardware back on. I added a  layer of white gesso and also the same Impasto paint onto the knob. I added paper to the bottom of the drawer and on the small enclosure. This is where the cards & envelopes will go.

The lid contains a photo frame with a glass so any photo can be inserted there. I added some of the paper as well as a cut out from the cut out sheet from the collection. I had gessoed and painted the chipboard pieces that came with the Card Kit. I then adhered flowers from the kits and also added some of the flowers and the "Beautiful Moments" sentiment and butterflies from the 49 and Market Artoptions Avesta Laser Elements package. I finished the lid by adding Finnabair Sugar (White), cheese cloth, ivory pearls and Finnabair art stones.
I then put together the Envelopes and Cards from the Cards, Tags, and More Kit for April. On the corner of the envelopes I stamped a tiny envelope using the Dried Marigold Distress Ink from Tim Holtz. This card kit was very easy to put together. Once finished I tied the card and envelopes separate using white and peach toned fibers from my stash.

I certainly hope that I have inspired you to create something lovely with these kits. I will be back next week with another project so until then please come back to see what the rest of the designers have in store for you all!
Happy Crafting!
