Be My Valentine Folio

Hello Craft Friends!

So happy you are here! Today I have an easy Valentine's Day Folio anyone would love to receive. I'm using the new Tres Jolie February Scrapbook Kit! Wait till you see these adorable paper from Paper Roses "Sweet Valentine " collection. You get 12 Double sided patterned papers (2 of each design) plus a Sentiment sheet with lots of fun phases and multiple sheets of the cutest images you can fussycut out and adorn your pages, layouts and other projects! Also included are Tres Jolie Chipboard Balloons/Hearts and LOVE key, Little Birdie flowers 2 packs, lace trim, 3 grapevine hearts in different sizes! Here's a photo of the Scrapbook kit!

From my stash, I am using 100 lbs weight white cardstock, Dazzle heart stickers, foam dots, pink ribbon, Martha Stewart glitters,  Versamark Clear ink, Embossing powders -Tourmaline, gold, silver, pink and sky blue.

We will create our Folio base first. Take a piece of white cardstock 8 & 1/2 x 11 inches and lay across your scoring board. Score at 5 & 1/2 inches, turn paper and score at 6 inches. See photo:

Fold your paper in half. Lay your fold on the left side on score board, score 1/8inch down to the fold.  Cut a slit up to fold line. See photo:

Now when you open up your Folio should look like this:

This makes sure your pockets don't buckle when you fold and glue them. Fold along lines. Next take another piece of the same size cardstock measuring 6x11 inches. Score at 5 & 1/2 inches. This piece will reinforce our Folio front and back covers. Apply glue and adhere on the top right side above where your pocket will be. Trim the excess paper at the top. See photo:

Then glue the other side to the back of your Folio. Repeat on the opposite side on the left. Glue both pockets in place along the bottom of the two pages. See photo:

Create another pocket page as we did before. Then glue in the inside center of Folio. Glue both pocket pages in place. See photo:

So you should end up with a total of 4 pocket pages and 2 full pages. Now chosing a variety of patterned papers from our kit, I cut the following:

Front/Back covers measure 5 & 1/2 x 5 7/8 inches. Before adhering your papers, cut a piece of ribbon and wrap around the  Folio leaving enough ribbon to tie into a bow on the right side after we finish our folio. Glue your ribbon in place in the center. See photo:

Adhere all your papers to both the pocket pages and 2 full pages. I cut my pocket pages as follows:

Area above pocket cut to measure: 5 & 1/2 inches, pocket front: 5 & 1/2 x 2 & 5/8 inches. Here's an example of how my first pocket page looks:

Front cover: I used Sweet Valentine Basics A paper, cut at 5 & 1/2 x 5 & 7/8 inches. Save border strips for future projects. See photo:

Now we can start decorating our front cover! I fussycut out a lantern, sentiment,  Raccoons/umbrella piece and some florals. I also chose acouple Little Birdie flowers. See photos:

I glued my "Hello" sentiment at the top left corner. I added foam dots to the back of the Raccoons and lantern pieces before adhering them to the cover. I arranged my flowers and glued along the bottom edge. I added a few red heart Dazzle stickers to resemble raindrops above the umbrella. I took a piece of the white lace in the kit and glued along the left edge Here's a photo and some closeups!

Pocket page 1: I covered the top portion above my pocket with Basic B paper and pink striped paper on my pocket. I added some ribbon along the top edge of my pocket. With foam dots, I adhered the porcupines and sentiment at the top. I fussycut out a shake element and glued next to the porcupines. Using the polka dot scrap paper and punch board from my stash, I made a small tabbed  card, see photo:

rounded the bottom corners stamped a sentiment using a stamp set and fussycut out the shake piece and glued onto the bottom of my tab card. Tuck this tab card into your pocket. Here's acouple photos:

Page 2: I cut a 4x4  photo mat from the B side from the hearts paper, adhered a photo, fussycut heart element at the bottom edge with foam dots. Take out the Tres Jolie chipboard Love/key and on the key, I applied some Luna paste-Golden Sand (my stash) over top. Let dry. See photo:

On the words Love, I applied some Versamark Clear ink and sprinkled Martha Stewart Tourmaline glitter embossing powder. Heat with heat tool. See photo:

Then glue at the top of your photo. Here's a photo of my finished pages:

Page 3: I glued the other leftover pieces of lace along the pocket edge. I glued a sentiment at the top left corner,  fussycut heart I adhered with foam dots on the right top corner. On the front of my pocket,  with foam dots, I added this cute bear and hearts jar fussycut images.

On the top of the hearts inside the jar, I added some Stickles Stardust glitter (my stash)to resemble sugar! Let dry.

I cut another journal card measuring 3x6 inches, score at 3 inches and fold in half. Add a tab at the top and sentiment stickers from my stash. I fussycut the cupcake image and with foam dots adhered on the front. Inside I glued another fussycut sentiment and a small photo. Tuck the journal card inside your pocket. Here's some photos:

Page 4: I fussycut out the elephant and using an x-acto knife (my stash) i carefully cut around his truck. See photo:

I cut out the Love You Heaps sentiment piece and glued at the top. On the front of my pocket i glued a Little Birdie flower from the kit and tucked a red fussycut heart behind my flower petals. With a envelope dies from my stash, I diecut a tiny envelope and card from the hearts paper. I cut out the heart candy box piece and glued on my insert card and glued my envelope together.

I slid the elephants truck over top of my pocket page. Here's acouple photos:

I added Silver, pink and sky blue embossing powders to each of the balloons and heat embossed them. On the balloon strings, I applied some Brown ink from my stash. Here's a photo:

I created a flip page cutting a 5x5 piece from Basics D paper, scored 1/2 at the top and adhered on my page.

Adding some foam dots on the backside of my chipboard Balloons and hearts, i adhered to the top of my flip page. I fussycut out the present and Happy Birthday sentiment and glued on each side of my chipboard piece. See photo:

Underneath my flip page i added a photo. Here's a look:

Page 6 (last page) I fussycut the cute bunnies and cut a small slit above their hands. Then slid a tiny Prima flower (my stash) in their hands. I adhered them to my pocket with foam dots. I fussycut out the sentiment and another flower and adhered to the front pocket. From the Basics A paper,  I cut a 4x6 card, scored at 3 inches and folded in half. I cut apart a sentiment and glued onto the front. Inside I glued a fussycut heart, hello sentiment and paperdolls from my stash. Tuck this inside your pocket. Here's some finished photos:
