"Be Happy" Canvas Layout

Hello Craft Friends!

Welcome to the Tres Jolie Blog! Thank you for joining me today. I have a Canvas Layout I'll be sharing with you today. I'm using Tres Jolie March Scrapbook kit and a blank canvas I bought at my local craft store.

This month's Scrapbook kit I'm sure you'll love. It features Prima Marketing new "Serene Petals" paper collection that include 6 double sided 12x12 papers, 1 fussycut elements sheet, along with matching Prima flowers, 2 packs, Journaling cards 15 total, Tres Jolie Chipboard pendant banner border piece and 4 different styled Chipboard windows, large white intricate doily piece. Here's a photo of the kit:

From my stash I used the following: 12 x12 blank canvas, Tim Holtz Idea-ology Curio frame, Prima crystals  foam tape and dots, small piece of leftover packaging, Stickles Glitter Stardust, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, Distress tool, Dewdrops Brillance Ink-pearlscent Orchid, and black acrylic paint.

To start this project i chose one of the 12 x12 patterned papers from the kit. (I used the brown spattered B side) see photo:

Taking my Distress tool, I roughed up and tore around the edges of my paper, applied Distress ink along the edges, then adhered onto the front of my canvas.  see photo:

Next I measured and cut away several of the border strips from my 12 x12 papers. See photo:

I glued the border strips on the outside edges on my canvas. See photo:

Set your canvas aside for now. Take the white Doily from your kit, and cut around the center diamond shape. See photo:

Taking the paper with the tire swing and tree, I cut off several pieces to fit around the edges of my diamond shape doily. See photo:

I  glued these strips and trimmed them to fit around my diamond doily piece, mitered all 4 corners to give it a clean look. See photo:

I chose a photo and Tim Holtz Idea-ology Curio frame and adhered my photo to the back of my frame. See photo:

I glued a piece of scrap cardboard to the back, added some foam tape (this adds dimension) and adhered it to the center of my doily. Set aside. See photo:

Take out one of the Tres Jolie chipboard windows from your kit. I chose the round circle and arched window pieces.  I applied some Black acrylic paint around the outside edge on my chipboard window. On the arched chipboard window i applied Dewdrops Brillance Ink- pearlscent Orchid over the top. Let dry. See photo:

Next I cut a small piece of scrap cellophane packaging and glued to fit behind my chipboard window. Then cut a image from scrap paper and glued so it shows through my window panes. I added foam tape on the backside to add dimension.

I cut a scrap piece of paper to fit and show through the front side window panes. The black round chipboard piece i added a sticker in the center on the front. And foam dots on the backside. Note: I ended up not using tge tore scrap piece. Save for a future project. See photo:

Next I  did fussycutting from the element sheets. See photo:

I do end up adding some other fussycut images as I go along as well as other embellishments like stickers and flowers from the kit. I play around with placement of my embellishments before gluing in place. I adhered the chipboard window on the left side on my canvas. I glued a fussycut butterfly on the window ledge and a Love sticker in the center of my window! Below my chipboard window,  I glued some Prima flowers  added acouple sticker sentiments and Prima crystal. Here's a closeup look:

I cut apart a journal card and glued on each side behind my frame. I cut out " bee happy " notepad image from another journal card and adhered below my frame with foam dots. At the top above my framed photo, I adhered a floral fussycut image. Here's a photo:

At the top right corner I tore this brick piece of paper, inked the edges and adhered onto my canvas using foam tape. I fussycut a large butterfly from a scrap paper and glued in place along with a Prima crystal! Here's a photo:

On the left upper corner I glued my Chipboard round piece and added another torn strip of paper along the very top edge. Here's a closeup photo:

On the bottom right corner, I glued a "Home Sweet Home" journal card added some Prima flowers, tucking acouple pearls from my stash, among the flower petals! Added another Prima crystal. I also fussycut another floral piece and glued on the bottom right corner on my doily.  Here's a finished photo:

Now we are finished with our Canvas Layout project and it's ready to hang and display! I hope you were inspired by my project idea and will order your kit today, and start creating your own Masterpiece!
