Baking Spirits Bright Recipe Album

Hello Craft Friends!

Dana here! Can you believe it's already November? Christmas will be here before we know it. So time to start creating my homemade Christmas gifts. Today's project is a homemade Christmas recipe album featuring the Tres Jolie November Cards Tags and More kit!

This kit has the cutest papers, ephemera and more from Simple Stories new collection "Baking Spirits Bright" I love the images of gingerbread, snowmen and even matching recipe cards, so you can share all your favorite family recipes!

To begin our project, I took some white acrylic paint and applied paint to all my chipboard album pages (about an inch around) set aside to dry.

Next I chose two coordinating papers from the 6x8 paper pad, I cut one piece measuring 6x 1& 3/4 inches. Inked along the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, then adhered at the top of my album cover. My bottom piece measures 5 3/4 x 3 3/4 inches. I adhered along the bottom, leaving the Homemade title area blank. Along the top edge of my bottom paper, I applied a border sticker ( this sticker sheet matches this collection I had in my craft stash) Taking a green gel pen, I colored in the Title letters, "Homemade". At the top, I applied one of the Bits and pieces ephemera pieces, with foam dots. The small gingerbread man I had in my stash and adhered to the upper left corner. Then taking some silver tinsel from my stash, I glued it around the edges of the chipboard title. On the bottom area I adhered a cute gingerbread man, gingerbreadcookies, (from this collection and in my stash) using foam dots, and the oven mitt is from the bits and pieces pack in your kit. I applied some Stickles Stardust on my gingerbread man and cookies to add some Sparkle! Here's some closeups!

All base papers I used measure 6x8 inches from the paper pad in this kit. I also added sticker sentiments to all the back tabs on each divider. Just a FYI I had to line up the holes on my dividers and with a paper puncher, punch 3 additional holes, since the other holes didn't line up correctly.

The back front cover:  I adhered my base paper to my page, a journal bits and pieces Santa card at the top. The peppermint candy embellishment was from my Martha Stewart stash. I added a cute photo of my granddaughter at the bottom and a few journal bits hearts and a sentiment!

Divider I left as is.

Divider back page: added a recipe card at the top. A few gingerbread men and sticker sentiment.

Ajoining page: I made a pocket page measuring 6x3 of the green gingham paper, added some ribbon from my stash, along the top edge of my pocket. Adhered a few stickers and Journal bits and pieces pieces on the front of my pocket. Inside the pocket I tucked in another recipe card, a small journal card from the paper pad and a journal bits and pieces card.

Page 3: I made a pocket using one of the recipe cards and adhered at the bottom. Taking a small journal bits card, I scored 1/2 at the right to make a flip page, and glued along the right edge on my recipe card. I adhered a Christmas tree (from journal bits pack and adhered on my flip page and using foam dots.  I adhered another Christmas tree on the left side on my recipe card.

Add the Merry Car divider on the right.

Back of Merry Divider: I glued one of the small journal cards from the paper pad at the top. And another recipe card at the bottom.

Adjoining page: I adhered a gingerbread paper from the paper pad.

Page 4: recipe card towards the top. A few sentiment stickers from the matching sticker sheet, the snowman I adhered at the bottom using foam dots, and a few tree stickers.

Adjoining page: I made another pocket using a different recipe card. Then tucked in a gingerbread man and girl along with a journal bits and pieces card.

Page 5: using foam dots I made a living room scene and Santa sticker picture on the wall.

Fireplace divider I only added a Mrs. Claus sticker picture above the fireplace.

Back of fireplace divider: I adhered another recipe card at the bottom, a holly sticker in the upper left corner, and with pop dots I adhered the blanket/gift bits and pieces ephemera along the top of my recipe card.

Page 6: I used a scrap snowflakes paper and adhered at the bottom of my page. I added a ephemera sentiment and using foam dots adhered the sleigh and reindeer ephemera pieces on top! Then added two small Journaling cards above.

To finish my recipe album, I added the 3 metal rings included in this kit, inside each of the holes. Then I chose to tie some ribbons (from my stash) onto each ring. I chose not to use the ribbon included in your kit. But you certainly could use it if you prefer.

I hope I've inspired you today and you'll want  to get out all your favorite recipes and make one for yourself or to give as a gift.
