Autumn Mixed Media Canvas
Hello Craft Friends! Dana here! It's time to share another project with you. Today I'm creating a Mixed Media Canvas with a fall theme. I love the fall colors and changing of the leaves. So I tried creating a color palette with fall colors in mind.
I'm using the September Mixed Media kit from Tres Jolie.
The 8x8 canvas is included along with these Finnibair Mica powders, and Cosmic Shimmer Gliding Flakes kit. I was excited to try out these new Cosmic Gluding Flakes for the first time.
To begin our project, I took out 3 different Finnibair Mica powders yellow, orange and green. I sprinkled some yellow mica powder onto my canvas.
You don't need alot but you add more if you want a deeper color. Taking a waterbrush (my stash) I spread the color onto my canvas. I continued to repeat this process over my entire canvas.
Next I sprinkled some orange mica powder over top and blended the colors together.
Next I scribbled some brown oil pastel crayon over the top in scattered areas on my canvas. Then spread the color over top of my whole canvas.
Next I sprinkled some green mica powder and repeat the same step as before till you have the desired results.
Set your canvas aside for now.
Take out the Tres jolie black chipboard frame (exclusive for this kit) along with the Cosmic Shimmer Gliding Flakes from this kit. Working on a section at a time, I spread some of the special glue that comes in the package, using a foam sponge (my stash) over top of my chipboard frame. Let dry till clear. Then with my finger I applied some Gliding Flakes over top. See photo:
Then take the black sponge in your kit and rub over top of your frame using a circular motion. Repeat this process till your chipboard frame is complete. I then applied some Gliding Wax Renaissance Gold (my stash) over the inside portion of my frame. See photo:
I took a piece of black cardstock and a stamp set from my stash. I stamped a sentiment onto my black cardstock and sprinkled some gold embossing powder (my stash)over top. Then heat embossed my sentiment.
I cut into an Oval shape to fit behind the Oval opening on my frame and adhered using glue. Then added some foam tape onto the back of my chipboard frame and adhered onto my canvas towards the bottom edge.
Next I found these Clear diecut leaves (my stash) from 49 and Market "In the Leaves" collection and I adhered around my frame. Here's some closeups!
Now you're finished and it's ready display in your home!
I hope I've inspired you to try creating your own canvas creation! Grab a kit today before they disappear.
