Antique Floral Butterfly Wall Art - Mixed Media Kit May 2024

Hello again lovelies, Rebecca here with another Tres Jolie Kit Club design project using the May 2024 mixed media kit.

In the mixed media kit this month we received a canvas and a iFlex butterfly I wanted to create a beautiful rustic looking piece of wall art.

I started by using the Paint Couture in Van Dyke Brown and painting the entire canvas letting it slightly dry before using a paper towel crumpled up to dab on creating texture in the background.

Using both Van Dyke Brown and Verde Green from Paint Couture I layered up the butterfly with Verde Green first slightly drying and going over it with Van Dyke Brown.  This created the illusion of an old antique looking butterfly.

 Here is the final look!  Also, the backer cardboard the butterfly is packaged in makes a great board to paint on.

 After letting the butterfly and canvas to dry here is the look which is way cooler in person than it ever was in my head.  I am so happy with the way these turned out.

 Grabbing some elements from past kits and the scrapbooking kit from May 2024 I wanted to create a little flower garden for my butterfly to rest in.

 And boom here is the finished project that will get a place in my home to showcase what wonderful art can be created!
