Altered Box with Rae

Happy Sunday!

Today I'm sharing an altered box I made using the February scrapbook kit.  I LOVE it when I buy something that comes in a fancy box that can be repurposed.  This box is from my latest obsession (thanks to Kim!): Forvr Mood Candles! I can't say enough about the candles, and the boxes are an excellent perk- they are perfect for altering. Here's what the original box looks like:

And here's how I dressed it up with the beautiful 49 and Market Vintage Artistry Blush and Sage collections from the kit:

I covered the outside of the box (front, top, and back with the Blush papers, and the sides with the Sage papers. On the top, I added some of the rub ons on the left side, and then some of the ephemera tickets, and one of the "doilies" half the way on the top and half on the front.  Then I added two Tres Jolie chipboard pieces: the clock is from the Cards, Tags, and More kit treated with white and gold embossing powders.  The frame is a piece you may recognize from the January kit that I treated with crackle paste, then dusted with green pigment powder. I added the 49 and Market flowers from the kit, and a coordinating sticker on the clock, which is also 49 and Market from the Blush collection, not in the kit.

I kept the front pretty simple- added more of the flowers, rub ons, and some more ephemera and die cut pieces from the collection pack.  The handle is from my stash.

Simple design on the back:

For the sides, I added more rub ons, and kept them pretty simple so that any embellishments wouldn't get stuck on anything.

On the inside, I covered the bottom and sides with more paper:

And then I used only rub ons for the inside panels- paper would be too thick for the box to be able to close, but the rub ons are PERFECT!

Lot's of layering on this one:
