All My Love Home Decor
Hello and Welcome Crafty Friends!
February is the month of LOVE and we celebrate Valentine's day! That is theme of my home decor project for today. I am using Tres Jolie February Mixed Media Kit to create this Embroidery Hoop project.
The Mixed Media Kit this month includes a 4x6 inch blank canvas, TJ Chipboard Keys/hearts-2pc, Paint Couture White Flexible Paste and Perfect Pigment- Pink Sapphire, Lisa Horton Gliding flakes- Citrus, and these neat Finnibair Mechanicals Tin Hearts-10 PC Metal Embellishments! Here's a photo of the kit:

From my stash I am using 1 piece of cardboard or heavy Chipboard, 9 inch Embroidery Hoop, Prima Marketing Frank Garcia's "Magic Love" paper and Ephemera, Foam tape and dots, Folkart Baby Pink acrylic paint, heart Stencil, x-acto knife, Cosmic Shimmer Adhesive, paintbrush, Liquid pearls Ballerina Pink, Stickles Glitter Christmas Red, Pink Tulle/pearl trim, Anna Griffin Minc Bow embellishment, Clear Gesso, Luna Paste Moonlight Rose, and white Tulle.
To begin I took my embroidery hoop snd traced onto a piece of heavy cardboard. Cut out your circle shape.

Next I chose a piece of patterned paper and traced around my Embroidery Hoop like we did with the cardboard. Cut out and glue your paper to your cardboard piece.

Now glue your Embroidery Hoop to your patterned paper/cardboard piece. Trim any excess paper away using an x-acto knife. See photos:

Set your Embroidery Hoop aside for now. From your kit, take out the canvas piece, Paint Couture White Flexible Paste and Pink Pigment powder.

I removed the packaging from my canvas square. Taking a pallet knife, I Mixed some of the Paste and Pigment powder together.

I applied a thin coat. Let dry. I decided at this point to add some Folkart Acrylic paint Baby Pink over the top with my paintbrush. See photos:

I took a Stencil from my stash and taped it onto my canvas. Then Mixed more of the Textured Flexible Paste and Pigment powder together. I applied my Paste over my heart Stencil. Carefully lift off the Stencil and let dry.
You could instead use one of the Rice papers in the kit for your background instead of a Stencil if you wish. I will be using the Rice paper in an upcoming project.

Take the Dresden Trim and glue along the edges of the canvas square. See photo:

Set aside your canvas. Take one of the Tres Jolie Chipboard Keys/hearts and Gliding flakes from your kit. Using my Cosmic glue from a previous TJ kit. If you don't have this glue, use what glue you have in your stash. I applied the glue over the top of the chipboard heart, arrows, and key. See photos:

Once your glue is transparent, apply some of the Gliding flakes over top. Brush off any excess flakes with a sponge or your fingers. I took the Stickles Glitter and applied around the heart and added my Liquid pearls on all the chipboard tiny dots. See photo:

Set the Chipboard piece aside for now. Take 3 different sized Finnibair Mechanicals Tin hearts from the package in the kit.

Taking my Clear Gesso i applied this over top of each metal heart. Let dry. Then I took a waterbrush from my stash, and some of the Paint Couture Pink Sapphire pigment powder, and applied over the top of each metal heart. I applied 2 coats of the pigment powder. See photos:

Once they are dry, I took some Luna Paste Moonlight Rose (my stash) and applied a light coat over each heart. This adds a nice Shimmer look!

Now we can gather our embellishments and decorate our Embroidery Hoop! I took some Pink Tulle and Pearl trim and with hot glue I attached it around the inside rim of my embroidery hoop.

I glued the 3 metal hearts in scattered areas on my Stencil canvas. Using foam tape on the backside, I applied my canvas in the center of my Embroidery Hoop. I then added foam dots on the backside of my Tres Jolie Chipboard key and adhered it on the leftside of my canvas square. See photo:

I took an Ephemera Cupid Heart piece and adhered it at the top of my canvas square. I also added a Ephemera sentiment along the bottom edge of my canvas, using foam dots. I love the added dimension it creates! I applied a puffy sticker playing card below my sentiment. Here's some finished photos!

On the right side of my canvas, I added a few ephemera hearts using foam dots.

To finish my project, I attached some White Tulle on the backside as a hanger. And glued a Anna Griffin Minc Bow at the top edge on my embroidery hoop! I added a gem in the center of my Bow.
Now its ready to hang and display for the month of February! I hope you enjoyed my project share, and you'll order a kit now and create one for yourself or that special someone.
Here's a closer look at my finished project!
