4 Simple Cards using Fun Techniques for Tres Jolie
by Deborah Adams
Good Morning Crafty Peeps,
I hope you are all doing well. Today I have 4 Simple Cards that are super quick and fun to create using the September Card Making Kit, I hope you enjoy today's step by step tutorial and as always I have a video tutorial for you as well that gives more details.
To start this card place the 8 1/4 x 11 3/4 inch paper on the scoreboard with the 11 3/4 inches across the top and score at 5 inches, fold in half and cut the folded piece 5x5 inches you will have a small card left that measures 3 1/4 x 5 inches set this aside for Card #2.
Next cut your mats for the front of the 5x5 card. I am using the green with gold pattern paper from the Card Kit and matting that on top of gold cardstock from my stash. After adhering the mats adhere to the front of the card
pattern paper measures - 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches
Gold Cardstock measures - 4 7/8 x 4 7/8 inches
Next cut out one of the 4x4 images from the Card toppers from the kit. I am using the one with the red roses and gold background. Cut it into 3 panels - 1 3/4 inches, the last panel will be a little bit smaller that two of the panels but that is okay. Next I used the scraps from the green gold pattern paper for my mats cutting them at 1 1/2x 4 inches and cutting gold foil cardstock at 1 5/8 x 4 1/4 inches. So you will have 2 layers behind paneled image.
After layering all the panels to the mats place foam tape to the back of each one, as shown below.
When placing down it is a good idea to use a ruler to make sure the panels are straight.
And here is the finished card. Now you can decorate how you would like.
Card #2
For card #2 grab the small card that we set aside and mat with any of the pattern papers from the Card Kit, with your choice of an image from the cut apart sheet and grab some ultrafine or microfine white, iridescent glitter.
To start place some double back tape or a double back sheet on top of the image. Be sure to burnish down very well.
Peel the backing off the image and sprinkle your glitter on top of the image.
Next use a clothe to wipe off the excess glitter and rub until you can see the image peeking through.
Adhere on top of your card, using foam tape if your would like, now you can decorate the card front.
I used the pretty lace and inked up the wooden vine with green oxide ink, then placed a sentiment on.
Card #3
This card is super fast and easy to create. Pick one of the 4x4 images from the Card Kit. You will also need your choice of color card stock for matting. For this card you will cut one of the white cardstock pieces from the Card Kit to a 5x5 card.
Cut your choice of cardstock for matting to 4x4 and cut diagonal along with the image as well, as shown below. You will adhere these two pieces together to create a triangle.
Next mat the front of the card. I used the pretty music note pattern paper from the Card Kit, along with red cardstock behind it.
Next adhere the triangle pieces as shown below to create your image on the front leaving about 1/4 inches space between theme.
Now you can decorate how you would like. I thought this would make a beautiful Christmas card.
Card #4
For our last card cut your card 10 x 6 1/2 inches, score at 5 inches.
Next cut one of the frames out from the sheet with gold that borders the images. We are going to use this frame.
Once your done cutting the frame out turn over and place 2 layers of foam tape along the edges, layering on top of one another. You will have one edge that is small and foam tape might show but that is okay you can cover with flowers or a sentiment.
Next glue down some of the pretty lace in the Card Kit on the fold of the card.
Adhere down the image first in the middle of the card front, then lay down your frame on top over the the image.
Now you can decorate how your would like.
Here are the card all finished with sentiments on them. I used the Uniquely Creative stamp set from the May 2024 Card, Tags and More Kit.
