"Maggie" Scrapbook Layout
Happy October and Happy Autumn! Today I am sharing my very first project for this month using the beautiful Scrapbook Kit! This month's 12x12 paper pack comes with a variety of rustic background papers. I thought this would be perfect for a layout. So my layout this month features my beautiful cat "Maggie".
I began by choosing my papers, I distressed all of the edges of the floral paper. I used my Prima Marketing Distress Tool, then taking a soft brush, I added some Prima Marketing Memory Hardware Artisan Powder "Antoinette Pink" and brushed along all of the distressed edges of the paper. I also added a touch of Vintage Photo Distress Ink. A favorite of mine to create a worn, tattered look especially when combined with the Artisan Powder.
I took the other sheet of paper I had chosen and created some torn areas and did the same distressing on it as the base paper. Once I adhered the top paper to the base, I did tuck in some cheese cloth as well as some vintage eyelet trim from my stash. I love creating a variety of layers on my projects.
Once I printed the photo I would be using, I adhered it onto a piece of card stock, I then began layering it using a doily ephemera piece from a previous kit, as well as other pieces. I then began to add flowers from the kit, I used on of the resin columns from Scrapberry's and I also added a resin key from a previous kit. I used one of the pieces of chipboard that came with the kit, I left it plain adding a more rustic feel to it. I also did some random stamping using some back ground stamps. It's visible on some areas more than others.
I adhered on some buttons from my stash, a butterfly and also a variety of half back pearls from a recent kit from Tres Jolie.
This is one of the wonderful reasons I love the kits that Kim puts together because a lot of the products that remain from previous kits can be used on other projects.
I absolutely love how simple this layout was created and I feel that using these beautiful sheets from the Scrapbook kit made this come together as easy as it did. I also love adding layers to create more interest. I hope I have sprinkled a little inspiration your way and that if you have yet to purchase this month's Scrapbook kit, you need to have this in your stash!
