Today I am sharing a project I made using the March Mixed Media Kit. These AB Studio large chipboard pieces are amazing! I think I’m going to need all of them! Here’s what I came up with:
One of the most impressive things about the large chipboard is it’s durability! I started out with sprinkling the Lindy mica powders from the kit in a random fashion, starting with the light colors and then using the darker ones all over the chipboard, leaving some parts without any. Then I sprayed the whole piece with water, saturating some sections, and not so much in other parts to create a marbled effect. I kept playing with this technique until I got the result I wanted, which resembles a distressed, somewhat patina metal like appearance.
The kit comes with several AB Studio cut out sheets, so I cut several of the images- navy map, music sheets, and an old picture, and assembled them for my focal point of the project.
Here you can see how I let the concentrated part of the micas stay somewhat dry, giving the chipboard a bit of texture.
I added the Prima Marketing velvet charms from the kit to the flower cluster. I used some blue wax paste to the Prima copper flowers to blend into the project. Some items on this project are from my stash- the metal pieces and the lace.
Lastly, I added more of the Prima velvet charms to some jump rings and attached them to hang at the bottom of the project.
