Easy DIY Bookmarks

Hello crafty friends!! Today’s project I created these very easy to create book marks! using this month’s Cards, Tags, & More from Tres Jolie. This month’s kit is so pretty!! In these papers from Ciao Bella, they have a few sheets of so many tags and others cut outs that can be used in a variety of ways. I decided that with a few of these tags I would make some book marks.

I began by cutting out the tags from one of the sheets of the Ciao Bella Sicilia A4 paper pad. I cut some yellow American Crafts card stock to make it a little sturdier , then added other design paper from the paper pad on the back of that.

Once I was done, I adhered them together , used some Tim Holtz distress ink Squeezed Lemonade and the Prima Chalk ink Worn Jeans from the kit , around the edges of the tags. I then used some glitter card stock to make the reinforcers & regular card stock for the reinforcers on the back. I then added some white and dark blue ribbon.

Lastly I ran them thru my Scotch laminating machine and trimmed them to size.

These were very simple to create and of course they can be used as regular tags. I will be using them for the books I am gonna be reading. This set would also make a great gift for any occasion. I might be adding a tassel later on. Another idea you can also do is add a magnet as well. There are just many ways to use the tags/cut outs from these collection.

I hope that you  like what I have created this week and I’ll be back next week with another great project with a tutorial to go with it! So stay tuned, meanwhile, check out the blog posts the rest of the designers will be posting till then! Plus don’t forget to join this month’s sketch challenge to win a great prize from Tres Jolie! Mood Board Challenge Book Card

Hello crafty peeps!! This week I’m excited to share with u this Book Card that I created for this month’s Mood Challenge! I absolutely love love this  from Tres Jolie! I decided to create this simple book card.

I had made one of these a few years ago following a tutorial on YouTube.

I used a thick white American Crafts card stock for my base and then used one of the sheets from the scrapbook kit. I used some of the flowers as well.

I used a piece of ephemera from my stash and a super cute vintage girl photo that was given to me by a crafty friend!  I then fussy cut a flower from one of the 12×12 sheets that had a variety of color and size of flowers on it. Lastly I added a piece of cotton ivory lace around the inside border of the card.

I hope that you will check out this tutorial and give it a try. These make such beautiful and fun gifts!! I look forward to seeing what everyone has created for this month’s Mood Board Challenge! Until next month crafty friends!

Altered Mixed Media Clock

Hello everyone!! This week I am back with this altered Clock that I created using some of the products from the March Cards, Tags, & More Kit.

I had the clock frame base , which is from Prima Marketing Finnabair products that I had in my stash for quite a while. This was the perfect size for what I wanted to create because I do have other brand and size but I felt this one had more space for me to do what I wanted to create on.

Other products I used aside from the March kit, I used products from DecoArt, FolkArt, 13@rts, Tim Holtz, G45, 7 Gypsies, Frank Garcia Memory Hardware.

This project was so much fun and I loved the colors that Kim had chose for the monthly kit! It made my project stand out more and I just kept adding and adding embellishments, I couldn’t stop!

I loved adding the vintage woman & girl paper dolls on the inside! I honestly can’t pick which I like more, that or the flower/gear/clock faces clusters I created on top of the clock and the outer side of it too!

I do hope that you like what I came up with using some of the items from the Cards, Tags, & More Kit March it. I’m excited with this entire kit, and looking forward to sharing the next project too! Till then I hope u come back and check out the rest of my teammates posts! They are super talented and show how to create with the other kits from Tres Jolie! Talk soon!!

Valentine Loaded Envelope Box Happy Mail Idea

Hello crafty friends!! Jeanne back here this month with a super fun project I created as my first Valentine project this year. I used items from the February  Cards, Tags, & More Kit ! I figured since this is a holiday of love, its nice to send someone a little special something just to say “I’m thinking of you” or something along those lines (haha)!

I have created other similar projects such as loaded envelopes, envelope flip albums among other ideas for snail mail.

This loaded envelope box measures 6 1/4 X 10 with the width measuring 1 inch. On the tutorial that I followed , the envelope its self was created with designer paper, I decided to create it using some heavy textured cardstock. I then just cut and adhered paper from Simple Stories My Valentine paper pad from this months kit. I also used one of the smaller banner stickers from the sticker sheet, which I love by the way!!

I then embellished the envelope with some laces, paper doily,  some liquid pearls, & small stickers. I didn’t want to embellish it too much and not be able to tell it is an envelope box.

I created some cute tags using the Ranger Manilla Craft Tags from the kit. I did cut out some cute images from another Valentine collection I had left over scraps from. They matched perfect with this month paper collection. I altered a queen of hearts playing card using cheese cloth and some appliques. I also altered a guest check with laces, made a small pocket with some tiny tags made with scraps from the paper I used on the box itself. I also created a paper rosette with a heart applique in the center, I lightly altered a tea bag, they are super cute!!

On this video you can see the rest of the project! I hope that you like what I created for my 1st project this month and feel inspired to make something like this or any other kind of snail mail that I’m sure a family member, friend, crafty friend might love to receive this month!

Thanks for checking out my post today!! ~Hugs~ Jeanne Rodriguez

Altered Wooden Box with Cards, Tags & Address Book/Journal

Hello crafty friends!!! This month I’m back with a super adorable project that I created using the Tres Jolie Scrapbook Kit  .  This project is for this months Mood Board Challenge. I decided to alter a wooden box. This box measures 8×8. I do plan to add more cards, envelopes, & tags. I just wanted to create just a few to show something and not an empty box haha!!

In this project I was inspired by Frank Garcia a designer for Prima Marketing. He did a similar design for a mini album parcel that I subscribe to. I just added all of the flowers and other small elements.  I took the wooden box that came with this kit, note these weren’t the papers for that parcel.

I really enjoyed altering this box. I made some 3×3 cards with envelopes , tags that I had in my stash, I added some papers from the collection to them, they came with some twine so I added that to the box, I also altered a small hardcover notepad. I couldn’t find a smaller notepad at the time and of course after I altered this one I came across smaller ones that I had in my hoard. No worries this one came out nice. This can be used as an address book or just a journal.

I do hope that you were inspired to create something like this!! If you would like to see a tutorial on this please check out my blog @ Jeannie In A Bottle Blog  These sorts of projects make great gifts for the holidays, birthdays, keepsakes, etc. I do hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family as I will do with mine, although my daughter and her family will be spending it with her other family but my sons will be here and I’m not too upset cuz I get to have her for Christmas . Talk to you all soon ~Hugs~ Jeanne
