A tri-fold card, a template and a winner

Hey guys, Kim here. Today I have a project I created using the cards, tags and more kit. This is a beautiful shabby chic/floral kit. If you haven’t seen it, here it is:

This is a great kit to create feminine cards, birthdays, weddings or bright cheery get well cards. I used it to created a love card and used a template to create the base.

This is a 4×6 card.  I used a 6 x 12 sheet of cardstock  to create the base.

Here is the template to download:

Card template

How about some close-ups:

I used the template for the base of the card. Then I decided on my papers for all my sections. I inked all the edges before gluing them down.

I left the inside flap bare, this way I could add whatever sentiment I wanted later. This gives you a better look of how the card folds. I love the mix of patterns on the papers. The chipboard rose is from the kit. I used some diamond stickles from the mixed media kit to make it sparkle.

Here is another view of the back side of the card. You can add little pop-up elements all over this card. They make fun surprises.

Now for a winner.

Did you enter our September sketch challenge? What are you waiting for? Thanks to all who did join in. Remember, we have a new challenge each month.

Congratulations to:

Peggy Giovanetti.

Your prize will be included in your next kit.

Vintage Garden District Handmade Cards

Hello crafty friends! I’m excited to share my first project for this month using the June Cards, Tags, & More kit from Tres Jolie! The paper from the kit this month is from Simple Stories Vintage Garden District! The colors on this paper are beautiful and so I decided to create a couple of cards .

These cards measure 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 , I used some pink card stock for the base of the cards from the kit. I then cut some of the green paper that has a different pattern from the kit as well to start my layers. I selected the papers from the Simple Stories Vintage Garden District paper pad, on one of the cards I tore the paper and adhered it in two different corners of the base. I then added some white cheese cloth then cutting, distressing the edges with the distress tool then adhering one of the cut outs with the sentiment “Live, Love, Laugh” . I also made a small flower cluster on the bottom of the card using the yellow and white flowers from the kit along with some other small paper flowers in between as well. Of course adding some cheese cloth in between the cluster. Then added some small white pearls to the flowers too! Lastly on this card I added some Liquid pearls to the top right corner.

On the 2nd card I did the same for this base as I used for the 1st one. I did however use the flip side of the green card stock than what I had used for the first one which is a little lighter. I then picked out another paper from the paper pad, distressing the edges with the distress tool and also creating some wrinkles on some areas of the paper. I then cut and adhered one of the cut outs which said ” You are the bestest”. I picked one of the papers from the paper pad which was dark green with a cute butterfly on it, I cut it to make a small banner piece and then adhering some of the white cotton lace and a white flower from one of the other kits.

These cards were very simple to create! I will be creating more once I finish with the other projects . Of course I will be sharing it here with you all! I hope this inspires you to create some any occasion cards for those special moments! This kit is super cute and colorful.  So stay tuned friends for more projects! I’ll be back! Until then you can check out the rest of the design teams great projects!! Also don’t forget to enter the monthly sketch challenge!! See Ya!

Quick Cards

Hi everyone Kim here. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.  Since I have all this time right now, I created these quick cards with the April Cards, Tags and More kit.

If you haven’t seen (or bought) the April kit, you are missing out. It is filed with lots of fun bright colors and you can’t help but feel all warm inside when looking at it.

Here is the kit:

Here are the 2 quick cards I created with it:

With all the social distancing, I created cards to send out,  as I know a few people are going thru some really difficult times.

Even though the sentiments on the cards aren’t very up beat, I think the cards themselves are very calming.

They were very simple to make. I used some of the cutouts from the A4 paper pad in the kit. Trimmed them down, and added them to the front of a card I cut from cardstock.

I used flowers (the yellow ones) from the kit to embellish the cards. The chipboard sentiments are from a past kit. I embossed them with embossing powder and glued them to the card. Done.

We will be revealing our May 2020 kit this Saturday to coincide with National Scrapbooking Day. So make sure you come back to the blog and our Facebook page (link below) to join in on all the fun and challenges.

Vintage Valentine’s Day Cards

Hey Guys, Kim here. I am back sharing some cards I made for Valentine’s Day  with the February 2020 Cards, Tags and More kit. This kit is just to die for. IA lot of the images remind me of the box of Valentine’s Day cards I used to buy and hand out in school.

Here is another look at the kit:

Here is the first set of cards I created:

I used the sheet of card paper and cut these to the size I wanted. I backed them with some white cardstock (so I could add a personal hand written message). I rounded the opposite corners and used some of the stickers from the sheet. I used foam tape to make the stickers 3D. Add some bling from my stash and I was done.

Here is the second set:

For this set, I also backed it with white cardstock. I inked the edges. For the corners I wanted to make them more decorative, so I used 2 different corner punches and the corner rounder. I used the gold glitter heart from the kit, I just pulled it off the stick. I added a small white flower and more bling from my stash.

These were really quick and fun to make. It really took me back to a fun time handing these out in school. What kind of Valentine’s day cards did you make?

Cutting up and making cards

Hey y’all!!  So this year I just have not gotten it together to get the pretty photo Christmas cards printed and sent out.  I got the photo taken at Thanksgiving and had great intentions but it just didn’t happen.  Thanks goodness I had the beautiful December Tres Jolie Scrapbook kit packed FULL of Blue Fern papers and embellishments that were perfect to whip up some cards that I could just slip those photos in!

I know, you are wondering why I used that big ‘ol beautiful scrapbook kit to make a bunch of cards.  But I’m not much of a rule follower with it comes to things like that and I like to do the unexpected.  The truth is, you can do so much more with such an awesome kit…any crafty project you have going on that month really!  It just worked out so well for me this month!  I made cards and decorations and even added to my gift wrap!  But we will get to all that.   Today, lets look a little closer to these cards.

I used the chipboard ornaments and sprinkled them with embossing powder to give them a metallic shimmer.  I then added a scrap of silk as a ribbon to the ornament.

I also cut lots of pieces of the papers out and layered them with pop dots to create dimension and depth.  And as usual I inked all the edges to give it a finished and distressed look.

This is the second half of the set.

Created in the same way, with lots of fussy cut Blue Fern papers applied with pop dots and inked up, showing lots of layers.

So there you have it.  I had a great time just cutting up all the papers and layering them to create some great cards!  I hope this inspires you to look at your kits differently and see what you can create!

Altered Wooden Box with Cards, Tags & Address Book/Journal

Hello crafty friends!!! This month I’m back with a super adorable project that I created using the Tres Jolie Scrapbook Kit  .  This project is for this months Mood Board Challenge. I decided to alter a wooden box. This box measures 8×8. I do plan to add more cards, envelopes, & tags. I just wanted to create just a few to show something and not an empty box haha!!

IMG_3219

In this project I was inspired by Frank Garcia a designer for Prima Marketing. He did a similar design for a mini album parcel that I subscribe to. I just added all of the flowers and other small elements.  I took the wooden box that came with this kit, note these weren’t the papers for that parcel.

I really enjoyed altering this box. I made some 3×3 cards with envelopes , tags that I had in my stash, I added some papers from the collection to them, they came with some twine so I added that to the box, I also altered a small hardcover notepad. I couldn’t find a smaller notepad at the time and of course after I altered this one I came across smaller ones that I had in my hoard. No worries this one came out nice. This can be used as an address book or just a journal.

I do hope that you were inspired to create something like this!! If you would like to see a tutorial on this please check out my blog @ Jeannie In A Bottle Blog  These sorts of projects make great gifts for the holidays, birthdays, keepsakes, etc. I do hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family as I will do with mine, although my daughter and her family will be spending it with her other family but my sons will be here and I’m not too upset cuz I get to have her for Christmas . Talk to you all soon ~Hugs~ Jeanne

Soft and Pretty Cards

Hey everyone, Kim here. Today I am going to share my first projects from the Card, Tags and more kit. This kit is full of beautiful papers, including rice paper from Ciao bella.

Let’s take a look at this months kit:

This kit is filled with a pad of 12×12 paper to create plenty of elegant/vintage cards. Plus plenty of embellishments (for a full list of contents see here).

Here are my first cards. I am still getting better and better each month with cards and I have a nice supply of them now:

How about some close ups:

I love the soft colors of these papers. I used flowers from the kit. The vellum is from the flower pack in the kit. I embossed one of the mini chipboard frames in the kit with a vintage embossing powder.

The clock is from my stash, I added some alcohol ink to it to color it. The sentiment is from my stash, it’s from a Tim Holtz pack. I also embossed the leafy chipboard piece with a soft green color. I also inked the edges of my papers.

Today’s tip: If something isn’t the right color, make it so. Try using alcohol inks, distress inks, or embossing powder to alter elements to fit your project.

That’s all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by.
