“Love” Gift Box with Rae

Hello, and Happy Thursday!

Today I am sharing my last project made with the April kit.  I have had so much fun with these 13 Arts papers- the Rosalie collection is perfect!

I love to alter gift boxes.  I have a tote full of them, and I love that because when I give a gift, I have some pretty options on hand to give the gift a personal touch.

Here’s the box I made:

This is a box that a cell phone case came in- it’s perfect for gift cards or really small things! I started out by adding some stenciling with texture paste to the paper with vintage ads on it.

I cut a doily from the Bo Bunny Double Dot paper for my base of the design.  Then I added some vines that I cut from the black patterned paper from the kit that were extras from a layout I made where I used some embossing powder on for a greenish hue.  Next, I added some embossing ink to some of the stenciling and around the edges of the box, and then I added some of the amazing Lindy’s embossing powder in the kit, and hit it with the heat gun.
I tucked in the vines under the roses.  I also added some pearls and string.  The bird cage and “love” title is form the 13 Arts Ephemera collection that goes with the Rosalie collection.

My Parents Vintage Love Layout

Hello crafty friends!! I hope that everyone is keeping themselves as safe as they possibly can and most importantly staying home even though it’s a hard thing to do but the way I see things is that we should comply this way we get back to our “NORMAL” lives! That’s at least my goal! Anyhow aside from this I am back this week to share with you all my layout for this month’s sketch challenge for Tres Jolie kits! I absolutely loved creating this layout! This layout is very special to me because the photo that I used is of my parents in front of our family home & my mother was about 8 months pregnant with me here!

My mom was the age that I currently am now when she got pregnant with me, I was that menopause “oops” baby haha! But all turned out good, I had a wonderful childhood with my family and I have already lost both my parents but I’m so grateful for all of the photos and memories that I am left with. This is one of the main reasons that I began my crafting journey! As I am sure that is a reason most of you do this as well!

So for this month’s sketch challenge I used the April Scrapbook Kit, I also used the large chipboard clock from this month’s Cards, Tags, & More kit. I also used some trims and from my stash. A couple of stamps and distress inks from my stash as well. It wasn’t hard to create at all, I just took a little time creating it because of it’s meaning to me.

I hope that you enjoyed what I created this month for the Tres Jolie Sketch Challenge and join in! I hope that you also find inspiration in my layout as well as the other designers from Tres Jolie and of course find inspiration in each other! Especially during these times when we can all come together more!

“Love This” Layout with Rae

Hello, Friends!

Today I’m sharing my layout I made for the September monthly challenge.  Here’s the mood board for the challenge:

And, today is the last day to enter out challenge. You can find the details here.
And, here’s how the mood board inspired me:

All of those pics in the mood board have so many ornate details, so that’s what I decided to add: many small details! 🙂

I added some black vines that I cut from a older Memory Box die.

I added a doily and some lace from my stash, which was a nice contrast to the ripped paper layers. I also added the Prima Marketing green Say it in Crystals to the tips of the doilies and some random other areas.

In these closeups, you can see that I added splatters of black and white (India ink) as well as some blue- the Prima Marketing Color Bloom spray in Glistening Waves was perfect for the Prima Flirty Fleur collection!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! We hope you enjoyed seeing all of our projects that the design team made with the September kits this month!

Our October reveal will be on the 3rd, so be on the lookout for some sneaks!

Believe Altered Box with Rae

Hello, friends!

Today I’m sharing an altered box I made with the September scrapbook kit.

If you are anything like me, you save all kinds of boxes for scrapbook projects. This is one that had some skincare products. It was perfect for this kit because it was already a matte black, so no prep work was required.

I started wit the inside of the box. I plan to use this box, so I kept the design to a minimum inside. I added pieces of the Bo Bunny paper to the sides and bottom of the box, only adding some black chalk ink.

For the inside top, I added the same Bo Bunny paper, but I didn’t have enough for the whole thing, so I cut the scrap in half and added it, leaving a blank area in the middle, then added a piece of the Prima Marketing paper for a nice contrast.

I also added one of the silver frames that came in one of the Prima Marketing flower packs, as well as some flowers from the kit, and some flowers from my stash.

The appliques and vellum with script are also from my stash. I completed the design by adding some of the Prima Say it in Pearls items.

For the outside of the box, I kept it simple as well. I added the striped Bo Bunny paper to all 4 sides, and added a knob from my stash and flower where the magnet that closes the box is.

For the top of the box, I ripped a piece of the Bo Bunny and a piece of the Prima Marketing paper. I added black chalk ink to all sides of both of the sheets.

The cluster includes a doily, piece of script vellum, as well  as the Creative Embellishments chipboard frame, the bottom layers and which I added embossing powder to for an aged effect. I also added an applique from my stash.

I added many flowers, and a quote which I took from the Prima Flirty Fleur journaling card from my stash. I completed the design by adding some of the Prima Say it in Crystals border, tucked in between the paper layers, a black resin butterfly from the kit, and some black and white splatter of India ink.
