Cards, Tags and more by Annie Carignan

Hello !! Have you seen this beautiful Cards, Tags and more kit this month? It is filled with beautiful products from Prima.  You have plenty of supplies to create beautiful projects like mini-albums, tags, ATC’s, cards, Art Journal spreads, layouts,  the possibilities are endless !

I like to go out of my comfort zone once in a while so I decided to create ATC’s, something I haven’t done very often !  So I chose the 3×4 wood ATC cards.

Here is the kit :

A new year has begun and every January, I always like to look forward and try to make new resolutions for the upcoming months.  That is why I chose to create 4 ATC’s with positive quotes on them.  I will put them where everyone can see them in the house, because they are good for my kids too.

I chose a different 6×6 paper for every ATC and adhered on the wood.  I wanted to put some watercolor on them so I put a coat of clear Gesso on the paper.  I cut out some of the Darice on all 4 and then put some flowers, art titles printery and resin embellishments. The quotes are from my stash. If you would like to do something similar and you don’t have word stickers, you can always type them in Word, print them and cut them.

LOVE by Annie Carignan

Hello everyone !!

I am sharing today a layout made with January’s Scrapbook Kit. It is beautiful and so romantic, I just loved playing with it !  There are so many possibilities with this kit ! Layouts, cards, mini-albums, Project Life, whatever you want.

Here is a little walk through of my background process : As you can see, I chose a flower stencil with paste but any stencil can do the trick and you  can use any paste, light, medium, heavy, clear or white, doesn’t matter : as long as you add texture.

I used my watercolors with water to add color and splashes. As you can see on the photo, I cut out some flowers from some of the papers.  Big flowers on a paper can sometimes be overwhelming for some people, but don’t be scared to cut them out to use them as an embellishment.  That is what I did by adding them to the layout with 3D foams under to add thickness.

I also like to add splashes of White Gesso mixed with water.

Here are some close-ups :

I created tags with papers in the kit :

Noel Plaque by Ginny

Hello all,

This week I’m sharing with you my project created with the December Mixed Media Kit from TRES JOLIE KITS.

I loved this project and had so much fun creating it. I added a few different techniques to it.

I wanted to create a shabby/weathered look to the plaque.

Lets have a look!

Here is a quick photo guide on the process…..

I firstly gave the plaque a coat of the green paint.

I dried this with a heat tool to speed the process up.

Next I covered the plaque with a thick layer of the off white paint.

Then Dried it.

When fully dry I rubbed over places of it with some sand paper to rub back though the layers to reveal the green paint and the wood underneath.

I then used some crackle medium from my stash in three patches on the plaque. The crackle medium I used does takes a good 24/48 hours to crack and dry but the wait is worth it.

The ‘believe’ I painted with the red paint and then when dry covered in the crackle medium again. Thick in places to crack and not so in others – this is where it looks a bit white where there isn’t the layer of medium to crack but I like the effect.

when dry and cracked I rubbed over the Opal Magic so that it filled the cracks. This really accentuated the cracks, I loved the way it turned out!

I added the Opal Magic to the crackle patches on the plaque too!

Next some fussy cutting from the papers in the main Scrapbook Kit.

This was the base to main design. I used hot glue to fix one of the floral embellishments, as this a big piece to fix firmly.

I added a lovely gold mesh bow to the back of the floral piece.

The second floral embellishment piece I cut up so I could create a smaller cluster….

…..And made this arrangement on the opposite side of the ‘believe’.

I added the fake snow around the floral cluster by dropping it into wet glue and leaving it to dry and then shaking the excess off after when dry.

I finished off by rubbing some Viva Ink Gold around the edges of the ‘believe’ and the outside edges of the plaque and dropping some of the glitter on to the background that had fell off the floral embellishments….. I never waste anything!!!

Here are some close ups of the finished project.

Bottle Tag and Card set

Hey everyone, Kim here. Today I am going to share my first set of projects from the Card, Tags and more kit.

Let’s first take a look at this months kit.

This kit is filled with lots of paper to create plenty of holiday tags and cards.   Plus plenty of embellishments (for a full list of contents see here).

Here is my first project. It is a holiday bottle Tag and Card set. These were very simple, yet fun to make.

How about some close ups:

For the both pieces, I used the same papers. I cut the bases out of the green cardstock. I used 2 separate sheets of paper for the layers. I used the same process for both. The bottom layer is patterned paper, then cardstock, then another sheet of patterned paper.

The chipboard titles are from the kit and I just heat embossed them with some red tinsel embossing powder from my stash. The white flower and balls are from my stash.

For the top of the bottle tag, I used my 1 3/4 punch for the hole. It’s a good size for almost any bottle. I embelleshed the top with pearls for the kit. It’s hard to see, but I also used some crystal stickles on both to give it a bit of shimmer.

Today’s tip: The dimensions for the bottle tag are 3 inches wide x 9 inches lone. The top is scored at 3 inches. Look for a video later this month.

That’s all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by.

November kit 4th reveal by Annie Carignan

Hello everyone ! I am sharing today my fourth project for this month.  The focus on this layout is the beautiful resin frame from Prima which is included in the Mixed Media kit.

I coated some clear Gesso on this White 12×12 cardstock. Then I used stencil from the mixed media and Modeling Paste.  I stamped the background with ABStudio stamp and put some color with aquarelle paint from my stash.

I cut different peaces of flowers, leaves and clocks from what I had left over from the scrapbook kit and added them under the photo as well as peaces of chipboard that I painted white.

I used some of the Finnabair glaze on the frame and art stones to create texture.

Shabby Chic Greetings Cards by Ginny

Hello all, Ginny here with you today…..

This month I had the card kit from Tres Jolie Kits to play with…. I am not a regular card maker but I have to say I really enjoyed creating these!
I have made two sets of cards, the second I will show you later in the month.
The card kit features Prima Amelia Rose, beautiful papers, with embellishments from Prima, 49 & Market, Darice and Creative Embellishments.

Here are some photos of the cards:

Now I will show a step by step process for creating them.

Use the white blank cards from the Card kit……

I chose 4 different patterned papers from the Amelia Rose paper pad.
I trimmed the first paper to fit the front of the card making it very slightly smaller then the card size.

Each paper layer after that I made lightly smaller then the previous to create the different layers.

I distressed all the edges and the final layer I tore into to really distress it!

Stick the first two layers onto the front of the card

And the third….

The fourth layer I wrapped the seam binding around it length ways and tied into a bow…….

….and then glue it on top of the other layers.

I wanted to create a decoupage effect with some fussy cutting from the papers. I cut four pieces of similar flower clusters from the floral paper.

With my starting point in place with my chosen main flower I then started adding my decoupage layers next to it, with the use of tiny small foam pads.

If you are layering up amongst flowers you may need to double pads up at one end to get the piece to sit flat.

I then added the next decoupage layer in order of size on top of the first…..

At this point I also started to add more small flowers and the leaves.

The last paper decoupage layer was added…

…along with another small flower and leaf.

I added a couple of single fussy cut flowers to the background before adding my title greeting.

The chipboard titles were embossed with white embossing powder.

Here are the products used on these cards

* Prima Amelia Rose A4 paper pad
* 49 & Market Garden Seeds Watermelon
* Creative embellishments chipboard – Sentimental Words
* Darice Cards & Envelopes
* Tres Jolie Seam Binding

And some close ups……

Memories by Annie Carignan

Hello everyone ! I am sharing today another layout with October Scrapbook Kit. I don’t use dark backgrounds very often so this was a challenge for me ! I think it turned out pretty well 🙂 See below my photo tutorial :

First thing I always do is put a coat of clear gesso on the surface.

The paper from 13@rts had a beautiful texture and I wanted to add to it so I used a wood veneer stencil from my stash with paste.

Then I added some Pink spray also from my stash and added a little water.

I used a paper from the Prima Misty Rose collection and cut out some die-cuts and a frame included in a Prima flower pack also.  Finished off with lace and flowers and a wood title from 13@arts.

Here are some close-ups :

Notes & Thoughts … a masculine layout by Ginny

Hello all!

This is my last project this month for the October Scrapbook Kit at Tres Jolie Kits.

I have created a masculine page this time, I know most of the time I stick to the floral shabby chic style layout but I do like to do the occasional masculine layout, especially as I do have a son to scrap about!
I have used a reverse side of one of the beautiful papers in the kit… and I think this layout puts a completely different spin on this kit… looking at the kit photo you wouldn’t think you could create a layout like this but you can!
Its always good to see how these beautiful kits can also be used for masculine layouts – don’t forget the boys!!! LOL

I have photo process below for you to show you how I created this layout.

I started with the reverse of one of the floral 13Arts papers, I do love these black neutral papers, they are so easy to use for masculine pages. I did brush over some clear gesso to prepare the pare for lots of misting!
I used the Ayeeda mist in the kit over the background paper, I sprayed it and also undid the top and flicked the inner tube over the layout to get the splats.

The chipboard I altered using a VerDay Patina set. I used the Bronze colour, painted it over the chipboard and then added the patina solution in different places to create the mottled/ old metal effect over the chipboard. Allow to dry naturally.

Going back to the background paper now its dry, I used the Prima stencil from the kit and added areas of white texture paste over the paper.

Next I splattered a lot of white gesso over the layout, spritzed it with water and picked the paper up upright and allowed all the liquids to ‘run’ on the paper. Dry with a heat tool.

Next I splattered some Color Bloom Antique Gold mist over the background. Again I take the lid out and use the inner tube to flick the colour over.

When dry I then rubbed some Viva Inka Gold over some of the raised texture paste areas with my finger.

The photo I layered up on 3 distressed patterned paper layers, all slightly off set to each other.
I inked the edges up with an archival ink,

Now its time to put the layout together. I placed the photo centrally and added the chipboard words from the 12×12 chipboard sheet – I loved that sheet! I left these chipboard words in their nude state.

The big chipboard scroll I cut into two – basically one piece was 2/3 rds. of the total chipboard piece and the part I cut off was 1/3rd of it.
I then slotted the bigger piece under the photo layers on the right and the smaller piece in the photo layers on the left.

I added more chipboard words on top of the scroll and then added the blue and beige flowers from the kit! It still looks quite masculine though!

I added a little detail with items from my stash, some oval and teardrop druzzy beads and some seed beads. I just drop the seed beads into some gel medium and leave to dry.

I found these teal buttons whilst looking for the seed beads and thought they were perfect for the colour scheme so I added a couple of those under the layers too to finish the layout off.

Here are some close ups of the layout…..

Here is the October Scrapbook Kit …….

…….can you believe this layout came from this kit?!?!? – It did!!

Wishes by Annie Carignan

Hello all !! Today I am sharing with you a layout made with October’s Scrapbook Kit.  This month’s kit is filled with gorgeous papers from Prima and 13@rts.

I started of course by a coat of Clear Gesso on the surface to prepare my paper for mediums.  As you can see on the photo I used a stencil from my stash with crackle paint.

Once the flowers were dry I used Watercolors in different Pink shades.

I did the same thing with Green on the leaves. I wanted the roses to blend with the flowers that are already on the paper.

Here is a closer look :

I also took a flower stamp from my stash with Black ink to add texture. At last, I cut some flowers from the other papers from the kit to use them as Ephemeras on the layout.

Material used :

13@rts Rose Fields Paper Collection (6 Sheets)
13@rts A4 Rose Fields Elements Sheet
13@rts 12×12 Chipboard sheet
Prima Marketing Misty Rose Flowers
Prima Marketing Misty Rose Flowers

Thank you and see you soon !

Mini Album by Annie Carignan

Hello everyone ! Here I am again for another month as Guest Designer, really happy to share some new creations with October’s beautiful kits 🙂  Today I am using the Card Kit :

For this month’s card kit, I decided to make a mini-album with the tags from Graphic 45.  I used different papers from the paper pad also from Graphic 45 for the background of my pages. I did not use any mediums for this album because the papers themselves are already filled with flowers and colours.  I added stickers (Graphic 45 Sticker sheet), lace and flowers on each page.

The photos are of my kids from a few years ago when we went for a photoshoot.

Material used :

  1. Graphic 45 Floral Shoppe 8×8 paper pad
  2. Graphic 45 Floral Shoppe 12×12 sticker sheet
  3. Graphic 45 Large Black Tags (6)
  4. 1 yd Lace trim
  5. Lace appliques (3)
  6. Mixed Color puffy flowers

Thank you for stopping by,
