Easy DIY Bookmarks

Hello crafty friends!! Today’s project I created these very easy to create book marks! using this month’s Cards, Tags, & More from Tres Jolie. This month’s kit is so pretty!! In these papers from Ciao Bella, they have a few sheets of so many tags and others cut outs that can be used in a variety of ways. I decided that with a few of these tags I would make some book marks.

I began by cutting out the tags from one of the sheets of the Ciao Bella Sicilia A4 paper pad. I cut some yellow American Crafts card stock to make it a little sturdier , then added other design paper from the paper pad on the back of that.

Once I was done, I adhered them together , used some Tim Holtz distress ink Squeezed Lemonade and the Prima Chalk ink Worn Jeans from the kit , around the edges of the tags. I then used some glitter card stock to make the reinforcers & regular card stock for the reinforcers on the back. I then added some white and dark blue ribbon.

Lastly I ran them thru my Scotch laminating machine and trimmed them to size.

These were very simple to create and of course they can be used as regular tags. I will be using them for the books I am gonna be reading. This set would also make a great gift for any occasion. I might be adding a tassel later on. Another idea you can also do is add a magnet as well. There are just many ways to use the tags/cut outs from these collection.

I hope that you  like what I have created this week and I’ll be back next week with another great project with a tutorial to go with it! So stay tuned, meanwhile, check out the blog posts the rest of the designers will be posting till then! Plus don’t forget to join this month’s sketch challenge to win a great prize from Tres Jolie! Stay safe my friends!!

Mood Board Challenge Book Card

Hello crafty peeps!! This week I’m excited to share with u this Book Card that I created for this month’s Mood Challenge! I absolutely love love this  from Tres Jolie! I decided to create this simple book card.

I had made one of these a few years ago following a tutorial on YouTube.

I used a thick white American Crafts card stock for my base and then used one of the sheets from the scrapbook kit. I used some of the flowers as well.

I used a piece of ephemera from my stash and a super cute vintage girl photo that was given to me by a crafty friend!  I then fussy cut a flower from one of the 12×12 sheets that had a variety of color and size of flowers on it. Lastly I added a piece of cotton ivory lace around the inside border of the card.

I hope that you will check out this tutorial and give it a try. These make such beautiful and fun gifts!! I look forward to seeing what everyone has created for this month’s Mood Board Challenge! Until next month crafty friends!

HUGS,

Timeless Tag/Notecard Folio Set

Hello crafty friends! Today I am back to share another project using the beautiful Card, Tags, & More! I wanted to focus today on using the Finnabair background stamp that came in the kit and of course a few of the embellishments I had left from it as well!!

I absolutely love small stamps because you can incorporate them in larger projects such as layouts, art journaling, etc. But this one I immediately got an idea to create this super cute folio containing 3×3 note cards/envelopes & tags. I had created this a while back when I first started crafting and found that the crafter that I followed the simple tutorial on YouTube has so many other tutorials, ideas that I have gotten my inspiration from since finding her. Here is the link to her channel.

The paper I used for this project is one that I had in my hoard and it is an older Prima collection Time Travelers collection. It’s such a beautiful collection and I knew it would be perfect for this project!

I used some of the Stamperia Rice Papers that I had left from the first 2 projects that I previously used them on. I used some a couple of the Prima Sunrise Sunset Mini Numbers as well.

Other items from the kit that I ended up adding was some of the Train tickets from the kit, those were added to the outside of the mini envelopes. I then cut up some strips from the Tim Holtz Film Roll from the kit and adhered them on the front and outside and inner spine.

As you can see in my photos, I stamped the Prima background stamp from the kit on the front of the 3×3 notecards, I used Ranger embossing ink , embossing powders from Lindy’s Stamp gang.

You might notice I also used some white and clear embossing powders from Crafter’s Companion. I like the way the image from the Prima Marketing stamp turned out looking using those two as well.

I added some tags that came from the paper collection that I used. I added some black cotton lace throughout the inner area and on the tags. I adhered a chipboard piece from the collection with some colored seam binding to wrap around the folio and tie on front.

I hope that you will give this easy to follow tutorial a try! These make super cute gifts , swap idea, happy mail creations, etc. I’m anxious to see what you all created with this month’s Cards, Tags, & More Kit from Tres Jolie!! I will be back with my next project next week as I created something fun for this month’s Monthly challenge in which I hope you will join in!!

Altered Mixed Media Clock

Hello everyone!! This week I am back with this altered Clock that I created using some of the products from the March Cards, Tags, & More Kit.

I had the clock frame base , which is from Prima Marketing Finnabair products that I had in my stash for quite a while. This was the perfect size for what I wanted to create because I do have other brand and size but I felt this one had more space for me to do what I wanted to create on.

Other products I used aside from the March kit, I used products from DecoArt, FolkArt, 13@rts, Tim Holtz, G45, 7 Gypsies, Frank Garcia Memory Hardware.

This project was so much fun and I loved the colors that Kim had chose for the monthly kit! It made my project stand out more and I just kept adding and adding embellishments, I couldn’t stop!

I loved adding the vintage woman & girl paper dolls on the inside! I honestly can’t pick which I like more, that or the flower/gear/clock faces clusters I created on top of the clock and the outer side of it too!

I do hope that you like what I came up with using some of the items from the Cards, Tags, & More Kit March it. I’m excited with this entire kit, and looking forward to sharing the next project too! Till then I hope u come back and check out the rest of my teammates posts! They are super talented and show how to create with the other kits from Tres Jolie! Talk soon!!

Vintage Mixed Media ATC Box & ATCs

Hello everyone!! This month I’m excited to be creating using the wonderful kits that Kim put together this month! I have been playing, creating, using all three kits this month. But first I will share with you the project I created using the Cards, Tags, & More Kit . I was anxious to create some ATCs using the premade cards that came in the kit. While I finished making the ATCs, I decided that I would alter the box they came in.

I began by creating the cards from the box of Prima ATC set, these were super easy to create . I cut out some of the Stamperia  Rice Paper images, I applied Helmar Acid Free glue that works wonders as a decoupage medium,  onto the kraft atc  with a brush, then put the rice paper images that I chose. I then went over the top of them again with a brush and the DecoArt Medium Matte.

Then I dried them with my heat tool, set aside. Printed out some Free ATC backs for artist info. I trimmed them since these ATC cards from Prima are slightly different in size to original ATC cards. I inked the edges using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I then chose my embellishments and ended up using some Tim Holtz paper dolls & small clock faces, gears, & flowers that came in the kit.

Once finished with the ATCs I decided to alter the box they come in. Check out my video to see how these cards plus the box was created!!

I hope that I have brought some inspiration your way! Can’t wait to see what everyone does with their Cards, Tags, & more kit!! I’ll be back next week with another project using this kit and more!! Thank you for reading my post today!! Have a great rest of your week and have a safe and fun weekend!!

February Sketch Challenge Layout

Hello crafty friends!! I’m back with the February Sketch Challenge project!! I had time to actually join in my 2nd challenge for Tres Jolie. As well as it being a process video on how I created this layout! I have yet to decide on the photo that will be going on it but I’m sure it will be of a grand baby or daughter. You get the idea!! Anyhow here is my layout! I had fun creating this, using my stamps that hadn’t been used it a while! I hope u like what I came up with!

For this layout, I used papers from Heartfelt Creations! I pulled them from my hoard vault and luckily found a background that I felt was similar to the one from the sketch challenge! I also must say that I have really enjoyed creating for these challenges, as I’ve done 2 since being on this Design Team. They really help get your imagination running!

Also used a variety of wooden rubber stamps, some Tim Holtz Stamps , 7 Gypsies stamps, and other non brand named stamps, I used some flowers from 49&Market that were part of the January Scrapbook kit.

Here is my process video I created for a quick look at how simple it is to create a layout even if your just learning like I am. I am not as intimidated anymore and another beneficial thing is that I have also been using my stamps more as well and they are no longer sitting on my shelf & drawers just gathering dust haha! Hope you enjoy my video my friends!!

Hope you will leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my layout and any advice you think that I could benefit now in my layout journey that I’m already enjoying! I Thank You for looking at my last post for this month and I hope you keep your eyes peeled for the amazingly fun projects that I have in store for you in March 2020!!

XOXO,

Valentine Cards Using Cards, Tags & more kit

Hi crafty friends! I’m back today up on the Tres Jolie blog sharing these Valentine cards that I created with the February Cards, Tags, & More Kit , which I love! There is so much that I was able to create with this months kit. So even if you don’t have 12×12 sheets of design paper , I used almost the entire 6×8 paper to create the variety of projects even a 12×12 layout as I did in my previous project or a Loaded Envelope Happy Mail Box w/ embellishments that I created for my 1st project of this month! So don’t limit yourself as to what you can create !

Although I’m sure majority of you all have created cards of all sizes, I just thought you would like to see some of the steps that I did to create my cards . I created 4 cards total, the first one was a  4.5 X 5 which is the “Cupid” card, the “4Hearts” card measures 5×5 and lastly I created a set of 3×3.

I hope that you like what I created this week and feel inspired as well as I get inspired daily by all of you crafty friends! Stay tuned for my upcoming projects and I hope you will enjoy the rest of the design team projects being posted weekly.  Xoxo, Jeanne Rodriguez

“I Heart You” Valentine Layout

Hello again crafty friends! Today I’m up on the blog to share the second project that I created this layout featuring my beautiful and funny granddaughter Jaelynne. She is my heart and I absolutely love this photo of her.

For this project I used one of the banner stickers in the 12×12 sticker sheet that came in the February cards, tags, & more kit. I knew the moment I seen it that I wanted to create a Valentines Day layout with one of the banners.

I wanted to create some thing with a little simplicity , clean, and easy. I used a white corrugated 12×12 piece on the back as my base. I adhered my 12×12 base design paper which is from Canvas Corp, I love the light background design on it as well. The other paper I used is from the Crate Paper Main Squeeze collection. Which the “I Heart You” sentiment is from too.

I distressed the “Main Squeeze” papers that I had ripped and added to a couple of corners of the page. I also added some Tim Holtz distress ink in Victorian Velvet. I then tucked in some white cheese cloth before adhering it down to the base page. I added some white floral lace trim to the center before adding the photo mat/photo. I also added a cute heart w/pearl center applique to the small “frame” on the banner. I added some Prima Marketing flowers and finished it off with my super cute sentiment!

I hope that you like what I created this month and feel inspired and just know that I love to mix up a variety of design papers. There is no limit and there is no rule that you can’t change things up a little. Please have a very wonderful Valentines Day with those you love and who have your heart. I know I’ll be spending the day with my hubby and fur babies! Till next time friends! ~XOXO~ Jeanne

Valentine Loaded Envelope Box Happy Mail Idea

Hello crafty friends!! Jeanne back here this month with a super fun project I created as my first Valentine project this year. I used items from the February  Cards, Tags, & More Kit ! I figured since this is a holiday of love, its nice to send someone a little special something just to say “I’m thinking of you” or something along those lines (haha)!

I have created other similar projects such as loaded envelopes, envelope flip albums among other ideas for snail mail.

This loaded envelope box measures 6 1/4 X 10 with the width measuring 1 inch. On the tutorial that I followed , the envelope its self was created with designer paper, I decided to create it using some heavy textured cardstock. I then just cut and adhered paper from Simple Stories My Valentine paper pad from this months kit. I also used one of the smaller banner stickers from the sticker sheet, which I love by the way!!

I then embellished the envelope with some laces, paper doily,  some liquid pearls, & small stickers. I didn’t want to embellish it too much and not be able to tell it is an envelope box.

I created some cute tags using the Ranger Manilla Craft Tags from the kit. I did cut out some cute images from another Valentine collection I had left over scraps from. They matched perfect with this month paper collection. I altered a queen of hearts playing card using cheese cloth and some appliques. I also altered a guest check with laces, made a small pocket with some tiny tags made with scraps from the paper I used on the box itself. I also created a paper rosette with a heart applique in the center, I lightly altered a tea bag, they are super cute!!

On this video you can see the rest of the project! I hope that you like what I created for my 1st project this month and feel inspired to make something like this or any other kind of snail mail that I’m sure a family member, friend, crafty friend might love to receive this month!

Thanks for checking out my post today!! ~Hugs~ Jeanne Rodriguez

Mini Embellishments & Altered Paper Clips

Hi everyone! This week I’m back to share with you these super cute embellishments that I created using elements from the January Cards, Tags & More kit and a sheet of paper from the January Scrapbook Kit.  I created these for my monthly planner but I haven’t decorated the month of Feb. yet so I have shared these on my Finnabair art daily notebook.

I had purchased the WeRMemory Keepers Mini Envelope Punch Board a couple of weeks ago and decided I would play with it. I created some mini file folders, mini envelopes, bows , & tags with tag pockets.

There are many tutorials on YouTube on how to create these cute embellishments, here are the links to the one’s I followed.

I hope that you like what I created this week . I like to create using a variety of kits, so using kits from Tres Jolie makes it that much easier for those of you who do happen to purchase more than one of the kits!

I absolutely loved using these months kits for the projects I created this month. I will share when I do create another page layout on my Finnabair Art Daily Journal! See u in February! ~Hugs~ Jeanne
