Your Story Matters Mixed Media Project with Rae

Happy Saturday!

Today I am sharing a project I made using the March Mixed Media Kit. These AB Studio large chipboard pieces are amazing! I think I’m going to need all of them! Here’s what I came up with:

One of the most impressive things about the large chipboard is it’s durability! I started out with sprinkling the Lindy mica powders from the kit in a random fashion, starting with the light colors and then using the darker ones all over the chipboard, leaving some parts without any. Then I sprayed the whole piece with water, saturating some sections, and not so much in other parts to create a marbled effect. I kept playing with this technique until I got the result I wanted, which resembles a distressed, somewhat patina metal like appearance.

The kit comes with several AB Studio cut out sheets, so I cut several of the images- navy map, music sheets, and an old picture, and assembled them for my focal point of the project.

Here you can see how I let the concentrated part of the micas stay somewhat dry, giving the chipboard a bit of texture.

I added the Prima Marketing velvet charms from the kit to the flower cluster. I used some blue wax paste to the Prima copper flowers to blend into the project. Some items on this project are from my stash- the metal pieces and the lace.

Lastly, I added more of the Prima velvet charms to some jump rings and attached them to hang at the bottom of the project.

Hello friends !

I am here today to share another project made with this gorgeous Scrapbook Kit we have this March !

Here is a photo of everything included in the kit, isn’t it gorgeous and inspiring ?

I made this layout with a photo of my beautiful son, who is 13 now and he is the love of my life… of course my daughter is too, but you understand I’m sure 🙂 My son has had some challenges all his life, and will probably have more but I am hopeful and proud. I know that no matter what, he will shine and be a wonderful man.  I love him and always am there for him and I know he will get through it.  Ok, let’s get back to scrapbooking shall we ?

As you can see, I used 2 different papers for the background.  I did not use any mediums for this layout, I did not think I needed too. I added some layers of die cuts, ephemeras, chipboard and flowers.  I really kept it simple.

Here is a closer look :

Material used :

Pretty Pale Flowers Sand Dunes
Zella Teal Flowers – Made with Love
Zella Teal Flowers – Fearless
Pretty Pale Ephemera
Resin in a box- clock

Mixed Media layout

Hi everyone, Kim here. I’m bringing you a MM layout I created using this months scrapbook kit. I let the photo inspire this layout.

This is a recent photo of me on my way out to my birthday dinner with friends. I remember the mood, It was a fun and elegant night. I tried to bring that to the page.

How about some close ups:

I used some items from my stash for the background. Starting with Prima Cotton Candy Mist, white crackle paste and rose gold icing paste (from a previous MM kit). I also did some random stamping with a script stamp.

I layered some papers from the kit behind the photo. I also added the chipboard filmstrip framed in the layers, plus a doily die cut.

I added some art stones and glitter to my floral cluster. It’s nice and shimmery in real life. The flowers and clock are embellishments from the kit.

That’s all I have for today.

Make sure you come back as our designers have more projects to reveal.

You are Magnificent Layout with Rae

Happy Saturday, crafty people!

Today I am sharing a layout I made using the March scrapbook kit.

I adore the Prima Marketing Pretty Pale papers. This piece I used for the background has a lot going on, so it’s perfect for layering. I kept this layout pretty simple to show off the paper. 🙂

I started by adding some stenciling using some crackle paste. Once dry, I lightly added some teal chalk ink to the stenciling in a random fashion. You can see some of this in the closeup below.

And, here’s more stenciling below. I used a bunch of Creative Embellishments chipboard on this layout. The film strips and light bulb are from the kit. The flourish is from my stash. Because I was going for a grungy, distressed look, I just added some archival black ink to the chipboard pieces, letting some the kraft color show through.

I also cut out some of the cream and teal flowers from the Mintay Papers cut out page to stuff in the clusters for layering.

I added one of the doilies and resin clocks from the kit, as well as a few more cut outs from the Mintay papers, and some patina gears from a past kit to complete the layout.

Beautiful confidence by Annie

Hello everyone!

I am sharing today a layout made with March Scrapbook Kit :

I was in love with this paper ! I cut out the bottom and put it on a beautiful flower background (this was done only at the end) . I put a coat of clear gesso first, than used a stencil with Modeling Paste.  As you can see on the photo, I took some Mint paint from my stash (Art Alchemy from Prima) and mixed it with water.

As you can see here, I used other colors too after putting different flowers from the kit.

So many possibilities with these Mintay Papers !! You can cut out so many Ephemeras, ATC’s and flowers, I love that !

There are also gorgeous Ephemeras from Prima which I used as a title.

The word confidence is from a Prima sticker sheet also included in the kit.

Material used :

Pretty Pale Flowers Sand Dunes
Zella Teal Flowers – Made with Love
Zella Teal Flowers – Fearless
Pretty Pale Ephemera
Resin in a box- clock
Elements sheet
Bingo Card
Architextures-Borders
Doily

Shabby Chic Cards

Hey everyone, Kim here. Today I am going to share my first projects from the Card, Tags and more kit. This kit is full of beautiful papers and ephemera from Lemoncraft.

Let’s take a look at this months kit:

This kit is filled with lots of paper to create plenty of Shabby Chic Easter and Spring cards. Plus plenty of embellishments (for a full list of contents see here).

Here are my first cards. They are a bit Shabby Chic:

How about some close ups:

I love the soft colors of these papers. The basics complement the pattern paper so well. I used one of my favorite doily die cuts on both cards. I also cut out some pieces from the ephemera sheets to use as embellishments.

The chipboard swirls are from the kit and I just left them naked. The white lace is a leftover piece from a past kit.

Today’s tip: Use pieces of foam tape in between  your paper layers to add dimensions. I used a thinner foam tape so the cards weren’t to bulky and it turned out nice. I was able to stick my die cuts between the layers and my cards were still able to fit in an envelope.

That’s all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by.

Mixed Media Monday

Hi everyone, Kim here. Today I am going to be sharing my project created with the Mixed Media kit. I also have a video to share of the process.

This month’s card kit features Lindy’s magical shakers and this amazing 12×12 chipboard circle from AB Studios. Also includes are several ephemera sheets for cut outs and a few other embellishments.

Here is the kit:

I love Lindy’s sprays, and I have worked with the magicals before. This was a fun project to create.

Here are some close ups of the project:

I prime the chipboard piece before I used the magicals. I also used some copper and clear crackle paste (from my stash) on it prior to adding the magicals.

For the ephemera, I used lots of foam tape to give the layers some dimension. The same with the flowers and butterflies. The lace doilies are from the March Scrapbook kit.

Here is the video process on how I created this and how to use the Lindy’s magicals:
