15th Anniversary from Annie Carignan

Hello everyone!! December kit is here and I am super excited to share my creations for this month.  December is a special month for us because first of all, my husband and I met in December, there is Christmas of course AND my daughter was born in December.

This background paper reminded me of our wedding because we got married in the Winter but also because my dress and the groom’s accessories had light blue in them.  This was the perfect kit for Winter photos :). We will celebrate our 15th Anniversary in January so why not do a layout about that day 🙂

This is a pretty simple layout where I did not use a lot of mediums except some splashes of White Gesso on the background and some gel to fix the snow and the Art Sugar from the Mixed Media kit.

I used different layers of paper behind the photo and lots of Pearls.  I used the Holly and Berry Border from Creative Embellishments that I painted White.  I just love the little Shovel !!!

I loved adding the Art Sugar everywhere, I think it adds great texture and color to the layout.

November kit 4th reveal by Annie Carignan

Hello everyone ! I am sharing today my fourth project for this month.  The focus on this layout is the beautiful resin frame from Prima which is included in the Mixed Media kit.

I coated some clear Gesso on this White 12×12 cardstock. Then I used stencil from the mixed media and Modeling Paste.  I stamped the background with ABStudio stamp and put some color with aquarelle paint from my stash.

I cut different peaces of flowers, leaves and clocks from what I had left over from the scrapbook kit and added them under the photo as well as peaces of chipboard that I painted white.

I used some of the Finnabair glaze on the frame and art stones to create texture.

Mixed Media Monday

Hey everyone Kim here, today I am sharing my project I made with with Mixed Media Kit. If you don’t know about our mixed media kits, let me tell you about them. The kit is filled with not only mediums, but a project so you can use our kits right out of the box.

Here is our November Mixed Media kit. It is filled with the new Icing paste medium from Prima.  It also includes 3 sizes of embroidery hoops and canvas. You can create your own mixed media hoops. You can subscribe to our kits here.

Check out the kit:

Here is what I created using the kit:

How about some close ups:

Lets talk about the background first. After I put the canvas on the hoops and decided on which side I wanted to work on, I took the stencil and the icing paste paste to make the background. Once that was done, I began deciding how I wanted to arrange my hoops.

Once I had the arrangement set up I glued my hoops together. While the hoops were drying, I heat embossed my chipboard piece.

I then decided to add a doily behind my frame before I attached it. I just wanted something peeking out behind it.

Now it was time to start embellishing my hoops. I moved my flowers all around until I was happy with the groupings. I made sure I used some dimensional tape under some flowers so they pop off the project. Plus it makes it easier to tuck bits and pieces under them.

After all the big embellishment were done, I started adding all the little details that really make your project. I used a butterfly and some floral ribbon from my stash. The sentiments are also from my stash.

Hope you liked my little explanation of my Mixed Media Monday project.

“Faire des folies” with Annie Carignan

Hello again everyone !

I am sharing today another layout that I made with beautiful November Scrapbook Kit where we had ABStudio gorgeous products, 49 and Market and Prima flowers along with great chipboards from Creative Embellishments.

For this layout I wanted to work with the feathers, which are not something I normally use so this was a little bit of a challenge for me because I never know where to put them !  So I had this idea of using all of them so they would be the focus of my page.

First thing I did was  gesso the background, then I cut little peaces of paper for the top and the bottom that I adhered making a triangle directed to the center and reaching the bottom. I used AB Studio stencil with Paste.  I took the feathers and adhered them from the top to the center, and from the bottom to the center also. I painted them with white gesso.  I put some  Icing Paste to give color just a little and added   the trim lace on top and bottom.  I finished by adding flowers, tags, bird and Art Stones.

Live in the Moment

Hi everyone, Kim here. Today I’m sharing a feminine layout created with the November scrapbook kit. The kit features papers from AB Studio. For a full list of kit contents please check here.

This kit is so versatile. You can create masculine or feminine layouts with it. It’s full of texture and colors that can go both ways. Here is the kit:

Here is my layout create with it:

I went with the soft pink, yellow and green colors from the papers.

Here are some close ups:

I used the mask from the kit to add more texture to the background. This paper was also great for fuzzy cutting elements. I used a lot of those pieces here too.

More of the fussy cut elements, along with the lace, resin feather and metal clock from the kit.  You can see a bit more of the stenciling as well.

There are some great tags to fussy cut as well. I used one here, along with the fuzzy cut leave elements. More lace and a resin clock from my stash.  I added pink and white splatters to complete the look.

That’s all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by.

Shabby Chic Greetings Cards by Ginny

Hello all, Ginny here with you today…..

This month I had the card kit from Tres Jolie Kits to play with…. I am not a regular card maker but I have to say I really enjoyed creating these!
I have made two sets of cards, the second I will show you later in the month.
The card kit features Prima Amelia Rose, beautiful papers, with embellishments from Prima, 49 & Market, Darice and Creative Embellishments.

Here are some photos of the cards:

Now I will show a step by step process for creating them.

Use the white blank cards from the Card kit……

I chose 4 different patterned papers from the Amelia Rose paper pad.
I trimmed the first paper to fit the front of the card making it very slightly smaller then the card size.

Each paper layer after that I made lightly smaller then the previous to create the different layers.

I distressed all the edges and the final layer I tore into to really distress it!

Stick the first two layers onto the front of the card

And the third….

The fourth layer I wrapped the seam binding around it length ways and tied into a bow…….

….and then glue it on top of the other layers.

I wanted to create a decoupage effect with some fussy cutting from the papers. I cut four pieces of similar flower clusters from the floral paper.

With my starting point in place with my chosen main flower I then started adding my decoupage layers next to it, with the use of tiny small foam pads.

If you are layering up amongst flowers you may need to double pads up at one end to get the piece to sit flat.

I then added the next decoupage layer in order of size on top of the first…..

At this point I also started to add more small flowers and the leaves.

The last paper decoupage layer was added…

…along with another small flower and leaf.

I added a couple of single fussy cut flowers to the background before adding my title greeting.

The chipboard titles were embossed with white embossing powder.

Here are the products used on these cards

* Prima Amelia Rose A4 paper pad
* 49 & Market Garden Seeds Watermelon
* Creative embellishments chipboard – Sentimental Words
* Darice Cards & Envelopes
* Tres Jolie Seam Binding

And some close ups……

November Moodboard by Annie Carignan

Hello everyone !! Have you seen this month’s Moodboard ? It is gorgeous and I created a layout with the Mixed Media kit and parts of the Scrapbook kit.

It took me a while to decide how I was going to place my 3 circles (Embroidery Hoops) Here is how it ended up.  I painted all 3 with White Gesso and used AB Studio’s stencil from the Scrapbook kit on the surface.  I mixed Finnabair’s Icing Paste with water and put some on the 3 circles. I then added some texture with AB Studio’s rubber stamp.  When everything was done I felt it needed something more, that is why I put the circles on a background paper where I used the Prima stencil with the Icing Paste.

Here you can see I painted the metal gears and the key chipboard with White Gesso and added beautiful flowers.  I finished off with Arts Stones. The small white words and the round title are from my stash.

Prima – Icing Paste Rose Gold

Prima – Art Stones

Prima – Stencil Flourish

Scrapbook Kit Spotlight

Hello, friends!

Today on the blog we are going to get up close and personal with the monthly scrapbook kit. Let’s take a look at what’s in the November kit:

The month, the papers in the kit are from the beautiful Dreamland collection from AB Studio, an international company in Poland, designed by Aga Baraniak. These papers are amazingly gorgeous, and there are MANY images to fussy cut, which can add so much dimension to your layouts.

In addition to many beautiful floral images, there are many options with these papers to create masculine layouts, which really makes them ideal for so many projects.

The one thing that you will notice about Tres Jolie scrapbook kits is that there is an abundance of embellishments- you can easily create 4-5 layouts, possibly using a minimal amount of your own supplies! There is almost always 3 different sets of flowers and many perfectly coordinated items! To see the entire kit up close, if you haven’t already watched the kit contents video for November, here it is:

So far on the blog this month, our design team has shown what you can do with some of the items from the scrapbook kit:

Annie cut out a tag from the papers and used the AB Studio flower stamp  to create some wonderful layers.

Rae cut out many tags and floral elements to create a back drop for the photo, tucking in the patina gears and Prima clock, added some of the lace trim under the photo, and added the yellow and green 49 and Market flowers.

Ginny also used the AB Studio stamp to create a rustic layout, keeping the Creative Embellishments chipboard (feathers and keys) in their “naked” state, adding the lace, Prima clocks and the Kraft color 49 and Market flowers and elements for this design.

As you can see, there are so many ways to use this kit that is chock full of amazing products this month, and every month! Be sure to check out the blog frequently for more spotlight videos and inspiration from our design team!

Birthday Tag and Card set

Hey everyone, Kim here. Today I am going to share my first set of projects from the Card, Tags and more kit.

I have to admit, cards and tags weren’t my thing to begin with, but I am really getting into them now. Especially using these kits. Let’s first take a look at this months kit.

This kit is filled with lots of paper to create plenty of tags and cards. It also have a set of cards with envelopes.  Plus plenty of embellishments (for a full list of contents see here).

Here is my first project. It is a Birthday Tag and Card set.

How about some close ups:

I cut the tag out of the copper cardstock in the kit. Then I created a couple of layers of paper and cardstock and more paper. I fussy cut a few flowers from a sheet of the paper and added it in between my layers. I also added some of the tickets from the kit on top of the layers

The chipboard title and bling are from the kit and I just painted it with black gesso. The oval from is from my stash. I used a couple layers of black gesso, then randomly sprinkled some pink embossing powder on it.

For the mini card, it was done pretty much the same as the tag. I used the copper cardstock as a base, added some layers of paper and embellished with flowers, bling and a frame from my stash. Instead of using black gesso on the frame I used white. I still added the pink embossing powder. The limited edition title is also from my stash.

That’s all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by. Don’t forget to follow us on all our various Social Media outlets.
